It's really weird. We all found it stale and boring and said it needed to go, but when it is REALLY canceled for good, we feel remorse..
Damnit, cancel it if you will, but at least allow them a proper final episode.
This, Don't make it a firefly-esque ending, Aka we don't know shit.
Well, finally. Who can say they honestly haven't been expecting this for years?
Is it weird that even though I don't watch it anymore, I really don't want it to get canceled? I loved the Simpsons. There are so many lessons in it, there is a reason we watched it in psychology.
Letting the legendary adult cartoon series go to rest with dignity. I guess it's good thing.
I'll never hear Harry Shearer have a conversation with himself again?
"We'll have stories for years".
Good night sweet prince.
It's amazing though how they were on the air for more than 20 years, and only lost 1 voice actor (Phil Hartman) over all that time.
"In other news Fox said they're going to renew another season of 'witty & humorous cop duo' and 'guy and housewife not getting along and talking about each others' personality flaws'".
Well, this'll give the writers more incentive to let the show go out with a bang.
Also, I feel old now, knowing that one of the shows I watched as I grew up is now coming to an end.
More recently I've seen a few of the older episodes and I have to say the writing was far better and the humour was of a different tone to the in your face stuff that is on more recent episodes.
I like both old and new regardless and it will be a shame to see the show go. Something tells me it will be back at some point, though :P
Despite the Facepunch bandwagon of "new ones are shit fuck matt groening", I did enjoy watching the episodes and found them entertaining. Shame it's getting cancelled
It's not a bandwagon, they're just genuinely not funny
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST IT'S ABOUT TIME.
This are certainly good news. They sure re-defined the phrase "beating a dead horse".
"We'll have stories for years".
Good night sweet prince.
So would have a TV series like "Married with children", "The Nanny" or "Seinfeld" (specially Seinfeld), but you don't see them applying that train of thought...
Sometimes more does not equal better.
I was only referring to the episode of the clip show where the cast sing about having stories for years.
I hope it ends like king of the hill, with [sp]a good family moment, no problems for them and an orchestrated theme.[/sp]
Thank you, that is all I have to say.
Used to be my favourite show but then it turned to shit so I'm glad it's finally going to end.
Used to love The Simpsons so much but I stopped watching it years ago. But it was always there, I never bothered putting it on, but knowing it was there with new episodes was quite reassuring, now it's not going to be 'there' any longer.
But it's not like there's going to be thousands of repeats on, so it's not dying all together.
And I'll definitely watch the last episode if they get chance to make one.
I actually find this sort of weird
I think they should end the last show with a "To be continued.." so that the show is never ended completely
The writers should guest star.
Strange that there will be a generation growing up without the Simpsons being made, I understand it'll still be being shown but still...Odd.
It's been a good show, but eventually it would've come crashing down on itself because of a lack of new ideas. It's good that they're stopping it before it turns into shit.
Well at least they're cancelling it before it turns into Family Guy.
The Quagmire Show.
No, that's impossible. It'd require Quagmire to actually be able to hook up with a girl for a substantial period of time. God forbid that Seth make a TV show that's not a carbon-copy of the ones before it!

Well...it's kinda sad although the new episodes were crap and weren't funny anymore.
That's a paddlin'.
I haven't watched the new episodes when they first come on for years now, but I still watch the repeats whenever I'm watching TV around that time of day.
It was pretty much all I'd watch from the age of five or six until I was about thirteen. I must have learnt so much stuff from it. I sort of wish they'd held off the film, and made that as a finale to the entire series.
but

Wow. I remember most nights as a kid I'd watch the Simpsons 6PM Channel 4 and 7PM Sky One.
Damn.
They should have given up on the TV series and concentrate on movies.
The movie was the only aspect of newer Simpsons that is good enough to compare to the classic ones.
Well not really.
