Sorry for fucking wanting healthcare, social services, and a strong national identity
god damn why don't you just move to america
The one time NDP achieved power was I think the biggest disaster in the history of Canadian leadership. I'm not saying it would be that bad again, but they're much better in the opposition seat for now. What exactly is so bad about a conservative government?
Zeke. You are blue AGAIN. FIX IT.
I don't have to really worry since newfoundland was going to be red anyways. At least we managed to pull out 2 NDP seats.

I second that.
fuck being a canadian if harper is elected

The guy running conservative's is a giant lying douche who wants to turn Canada into America. As well as fuck over Canadian's.
Zeke, you are orange again. Good man.
People will just vote conservative, it's the way things work. I really hope another party wins.
I think a Tory Minority and NDP opposition may be a really great thing for Canada, it'll force people to listen to what the NDP have to say. They have good ideas, but they're not financially viable in their presented form. This'll allow the government to re-work their policies to be financially viable, because, for once, people will be listening to their requests.
I just don't want the cons to get a majority and I think you agree with me
So why are you fighting
Conservative majority. GG Canada.
The CBC election results aren't working for me.
The Liberals lost support in 2008 in English Canada because Dion was too French. They lost support in French Canada this time because Iggy is too American. They need Gerard Kennedy in power next election, because it's him or Bob Rae, and Ontario will NEVER vote for Bob Rae. It's time Canada had a Kennedy in power, and that time may be as early as 2012.
Halifax West is Orange. Today is a good day.

I live in Canada and I'm not too concerned with the politics here as I'll be leaving pretty soon anyways, but Harper's really not that bad of a leader. He hasn't done anything explicitly awful and he's focused on strengthening the economy, which should obviously be the top priority.
I don't want to offend anyone, but it basically seems like the only ones complaining about this are the poor people. If Harper was so bad he wouldn't have over 40% of the votes right now.
Cons just dipped under 40% for a second. Hoped it would stick but . . . nope. Still, the prospect was nice.

Partially because I want things to get done, but the prospect does have me doubting how honest they would be.
Of fucking course, Alberta is 100% blue. :frog:
This election seriously decides whether I stay in Canada for university or go elsewhere in 2012

Look at bush he won, He done fucked up America big time. So you can't say just because he has a lot of votes which manes he is good.
I'm looking at the number of polls reporting in some of these ridings and we're looking at like 10% reported in some places
This still has a chance to swing back into conservative minority territory
I really hope we get at least a Harper minority. Then we have a coalition, then we vote again.

True, but I have no confidence in that.

You can't compare him to Bush, the circumstances were completely different with Bush being largely re-elected due to 9/11. I just think it's funny how vocal people are about their disdain for Harper and yet they offer no valid reasons for why he's a bad leader OR why any alternative would be better.
The Liberal's are a disaster and frankly should just be abolished. NDP opposition is the best thing that can happen right now and will lead to a stronger long term government. This is a good outcome.

Come to New Jersey!

Oh well.
It's really going towards a conservative majority and Duceppe is losing by 1000 votes now.
Still, the NDP made a giant leap forward compared to the last few elections.
Wait hold on a second. Why does Canada have an election system based on Geography like the US does?
NDP + Liberal = 50% of the vote. Conservatives = 40%. This is why geography based votes are retarded as shit. Do it better next time Canada.

We don't vote again if there's a coalition

First-past-the-post is retarded
Elections Canada is predicting Tory Majority with 162 seats.

NDP wanted to change the process. No chance of that now.
Oh hey the NDP have one seat in Alberta. I have some faith left in this province.
Do the Northwest Territories not vote?
