I go to Blockbuster for movies all the time, even though I do less now that they raised their prices (lmao).
You misspelled Netflix.
Yea, I know right? Sure Blockbuster went bankrupt, had to be bought up by DISH, and then had to sell off its UK subsidiaries in 2013, but I'm sure all the comments about the company falling hard are just internet hate.
I was referring to the Xbox One.

it's pretty obvious that this is a marketing tactic from microsoft. it broke pre-order records, because you couldn't fucking pre-order consoles at blockbuster in the past. I have never seen a corporation this desperate in my life.
Well, blockbuster do sell movies

I bet Xbox One will actually outsell PS4 and vast majority of FP will flip flop towards supporting it over PS4. I can't give a honest dick about either of them, I can just already tell exactly that gonna happen.
It also broke records on Amazon. Lets face it: We(as in: people who write on the internet about pros and cons of consoles) are not the target group.

There really isn't anything WRONG with the Xbox One, it's just the Internet hivemind.
There really isn't anything WRONG with the Xbox One, it's just the Internet hivemind.
Except there ARE things wrong with both it and the reveal presentation, which is why the internet is reacting so negatively to it. - "Always-On" Kinect that Microsoft needs to clarify details on. - Vague explanation regarding the requirements of an internet connection. - Region-Locked - Will not allow indie devs to self-publish - Registers games to a specific console and account, making trade-ins and sharing among friends a likely hassle. - A mere 500gb hard drive despite requiring all games to be installed to play. - Xbox Live looks to still be a paid service. - Focus on All-In-One entertainment rather than as a gaming device (which is a pro or con depending on your viewpoint). I'll grant you that a lot of what I just listed is uncertain, but that's down to Microsoft's infuriatingly vague statements.

Assuming games turn out to be about 30GB each, you still have about 16 games you can have installed at one time. Unless you actively play a ton of online games, with some sense you can easily just uninstall whatever game you haven't played in a long time. It's the same deal with phones on a lesser scale.

It wasn't so long ago that one of the major advantages of console gaming was the fact that (some PS3 games aside) you could just throw the disc in and you'd be ready to go. On the other hand, maybe this will mean faster loading times.

not sure why anyone is that surprised. your average "i like cod and fifa" lad is just gonna see there's a new xbox and jump on it
None of those are cons inherently, they're only seen as cons because of, again, the internet hivemind
You're awfully eager to dismiss the argument, aren't you? Just because a very vocal portion of the community (you'll note I didn't say 'minority,' because we honestly don't know) has a dissenting opinion does NOT mean that their concerns are invalid. You're choosing to be optimistic about it or you're just flat-out not bothered by Microsoft's decisions, while the folks crying foul are. That doesn't make those issues suddenly not exist.
I'm gonna buy the Xbone probably, I know it's shit but my favorite game franchise is an exclusive. I've done this joke before, but it's like having your loved one in Detroit. You don't wanna go to Detroit, but...

Sure, Region-lock and a paid Xbox Live is something we've lived with quite a while so we know how big of an impact this will have, but I feel like we need alot more information about those other "issues" before deciding if you are or aren't gonna get the console. Not saying that you are, but that "very vocal portion of the community" seems very quick to jump to conclusion...

That said, I would rather the community jump to conclusions and say "NO," even if their concerns end up being unfounded, than to just accept whatever a company does. Better to nip that in the bud before it becomes a problem.
While they may have alienated gamers, they have shifted their focus to the much larger mass market. This will sell and sell well, just not to the gaming community
I will be unhappy if XO sells well becaecue that means it will teach company's that's it's okay to treat gamers like shit
honestly, I'm not a hardcore gamer, I'm a collector. With that said, I'm going to buy it. My favourite game series is an exclusive and I collect game consoles so I'd have it sooner or later.
Yes, from what we can see so far, you'd have to be pretty retarded to fork out the ridiculous wad of cash that will inevitabley be required to aquire an XboxNONE. Let's face it, a pretty massive portion of Americans are retarded and will eat this stupid console up faster than a BK whopper. Americans will buy whatever you tell them to buy. Personally, ill be saving up for a PS4 until it comes out in order to revisit my love for Sony that spans back to the PS1.
Boy are those pre-orders gonna drop after a certain day of the next month... [editline]28th May 2013[/editline]
None of those are cons inherently, they're only seen as cons because of, again, the internet hivemind
Always-On, aka you either have internet or you just wasted around 500$ Indie devs have it tighter than before You get stuck with the games you buy, most likely can't trade in Xbox Live most likely still a paid service (which is ridiculous and IMO, loses the console race altogether just because of it) At least the first and last point are the ones that seem to be the most criticaly bad. They are going with it (for now?) because they haven't heard much about the PS4 yet other than it has a shinny remote and a few other things. The final reveal is in a few weeks or so, by then, people might or might not change their minds, according to what they see. I'm very sure many pre-orders will be cancelled once we see Sony's stuff.
Doesnt bother me, I only PC games. As long as ports are no longer constrained by xbox 360
- A mere 500gb hard drive despite requiring all games to be installed to play.
To be fair, you could always hook up an external hard drive to it. That's the only way I could get around my Xbox's mere 6GB hard drive. Still though, it's sad that Xbox One is literally doing just about everything wrong and getting a lot of sales while PS4 seems like it's going in the right direction but not getting as much.

I don't know if you can make that claim about sales...
Just because the internet hates something doesn't mean the soccer moms and dudebros do.
None of my dudebro friends intend on getting an XBox One And they all own 360s :v:
