I just read the first chapter yesterday because a couple of teachers read it and said it was good, I guess it's ok.
Prim :crying:
Movie isn't going to do well. Being pg-13 and a big majority of the characters are under 18 it's most likely that the people she kills will just fall asleep, or have some digital thing where they get teleported before they die. I dont know if you really can have death involving anyone under 18 in a movie, unless it's super dramatic.
http://www.theatlantic.com/culture/archive/2011/04/hunger-games-josh-hutcherson-and-liam-hemsworth-cast-as-peeta-and-gale/236797/ --- 'Hunger Games': Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth Cast as Peeta and Gale http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/03/18/jennifer-lawrence-katniss-the-hunger-games/ --- Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Yeah, but the people that will be playing is not under 18, so we'll see. Updating the main post with this info.

It will show the characters dying "offcamera".

The first book was really great, the second one was a piece of crap, and the third one was OK. That's how I look at it.
All my friends think these are the greatest books ever written. I read a chapter or so from the first book and it didn't really interest me.
I loved the first book, the second was a good sequel, the third was good until the end. What a disappointing ending, it seemed so rushed.
The series is terribly overrated.
I read the series and enjoyed it, but when I tried to reread it I realized how fucking awful the main character is. "I'm a rebel soldier fighting against a totalitarian police state that treats me and all of my friends family and neighbors as slaves as well as sacrifices our children every few years, I think I'm going to bitch and whine about how I can't figure out who loves me." Not to mention the shit they pulled in that last book where she shoots down bombers with "explosive" arrows and the only defenses in the capital are weird traps as opposed to real urban warfare.
I agree the ending to Mocking Jay was bad, but the whole book it self seemed very intense, until the ending of course.
Was that the one written by Stephanie Meyer?
I read the first book, loved it, and read the second, and didn't quite like it as much. Should I bother with the third?
It's cool, I already read/saw battle royale.
