well its on the news right now again, and they just tried played a audio of george zimmerman it did not sound like a voice at all it sounded like someone rubbing their dick on the microphone. They called it Enhanced audio.
can somebody sum up this trayvon thing to me like, the events that have happened so far.
Jeez this manslaughter stuff. Assuming Zimmerman did in fact approached Martin in a non threatening, non violent way and confront him about what he was doing and Martin got pissed off and attacked, it would not be manslaughter. For it to be manslaughter it would have to be proved that Zimmerman was threatening Martin or provoked him into a fight. As far as I know there was no legal obligation for Zimmerman to not confront Martin.
he was told explicitly not to follow him by the dispatcher, by following him he had provoked him
can somebody sum up this trayvon thing to me like, the events that have happened so far.
I'm pretty sure this is what we know so far: >George Zimmerman is a neighborhood watch volunteer >George "apparently" sees Travyon Martin acting suspiciously. >George calls the cops, cops explicitly tell him to not do anything or follow Travyon. >George doesn't listen and follows Travyon. >A scuffle occurs between Travyon and George the details at this point are vague. The only current evidence is the background sound of a nearby phone call made to the police (from a women who heard screaming). >Many claim the phone evidence clearly shows Travyon screaming/begging for help followed by George shooting Travyon. >Travyon Martin was carrying a bag of skittles and an ice tea so many claim any suspicious activity was blown out of proportion. >George claims to police that Travyon "beat his head into the pavement" many biased sources claim this unlikely given what Travyon was carrying on his person, although there isn't any evidence suggesting this didn't actually happen. Then again absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. >Queue George Zimmerman isn't arrested or charged for anything. >Internet goes crazy calling the case a White -> Black cold-blooded murdered even though George Zimmerman is clearly Hispanic. >Queue further drama where this whole thing blows out of proportion due to it's apparent "race-related nature" and the biased opinion of many people unsupported by evidence. >Further evidence of George Zimmerman's past from this article clearly shows that a case of White -> Black assault (not murder) had occurred in the neighborhood previously by Justin Collison the victim of which was Sherman Ware. >The two cops Timothy Smith and Sergeant Anthony Raimondo played a role as did the Sanford Police department in Justin being let off-the-hook. Note these two cops involved in the Justin case were also present at George Zimmerman's incident. Possibly suggesting further irresponsibility on their part. >George Zimmerman spread awareness of Justin's crimes and the clear corruption of the police involved in the incident, the irony being he is currently being accused of the same thing he battled against year ago, showing further proof that the current Travyon incident is extremely unlikely to be racially motivated (which is the biggest point about it's current awareness). >The incident between George and Travyon is still vague, but it clearly couldn't be race related, many suggest now that it had a lot to do with the irresponsible nature of the Sanford police department, George isn't an evil racist guy he's being made out to be. Though this doesn't mean George is innocent by any means.
Can we just get the trial on and stop worrying about all this evidence
how is this evidence all this does is diffuse that it's a racial crime (annecdotally), it doesn't make zimmerman any less guilty of taking a life
how is this evidence all this does is diffuse that it's a racial crime (annecdotally), it doesn't make zimmerman any less guilty of taking a life
Because otherwise he could have been convicted of a hate crime as well as manslaughter? Because past history of both parties' behavior is important in assessing certain unknowns? And he isn't guilty yet, that's a pretty big assumption to make so early. But considering you somehow believe you know he's guilty, it's no surprise that you don't see the point in understanding the character of both the victim and the assailant. Not to mention, aside from this being an important issue to the case legally, it's important to all those following the case. This case is huge, and it's important that information like this be released so that people don't misunderstand the nature of the case (i.e., thinking this is a racial crime when it isn't).
people who follow the case adamantly probably do not believe it's a racial crime. So why they are trying to sensationalize this story is beyond me. I said he was guilty of taking a life, which is true. I don't care if it was in self-defense, it's manslaughter in the lightest.
So Zimmerman followed Trayvon because his past experience of law enforcement not being up to scratch. Makes sense, I guess.
can we just get the trial on and stop worrying about all these personal accounts
Too late. The media has fucked it up.
he was told explicitly not to follow him by the dispatcher, by following him he had provoked him
He was not told "explicitly" not to follow him, the dispatcher told him "we dont need you to do that". Regardless, following someone in a non threatening manner is not provocation for having someone attack you. [editline]5th April 2012[/editline]
>George calls the cops, cops explicitly tell him to not do anything or follow Travyon. >George doesn't listen and follows Travyon. >Queue George Zimmerman isn't arrested or charged for anything. .
He was told by the 911 operator that they "didnt need him to do that" If Zimmerman continued to follow him is still up to speculation He was arrested but not charged
you have to think about it though, shooting someone is not something you just do. Zimmerman was scared for his life. I don't fuck with the media making this man seem like some kind of racist fuck out to just murder black people.
