A single guy attempts to command an entire plane, maybe 100+ people, he's very smart. Most successful hijackings involve at least 5 people, don't they?
And guns, and guys with actual bombs.
I don't see why people don't do this during hijackings. I mean... if they don't do anything they would die anyways.

And guns, he had a card.
poo I'm late
A stupid move... When you try to hijack a plane with Norwegians on board you're asking to get knocked down by berserker rage
Good, stupid fucks that hijack planes and kill innocent people in horrific ways must be jailed and raped profusely until the day they are released at which point they are hit by a car.
Yeah, but I think it's still safer too keep anything dangerous such as a gun on the ground.
Until the terrorists manage to smuggle a gun aboard. Then what will you do? You'll die because some guy shot you and you couldn't shoot back.

OR everyone can jump over him right like really fast and he will overwhelmed/out of bullets.

What if the TSA Agent is a terrorist? What if the terrorists wrestle down the Agent and takes his gun? Then they don't even need to smuggle a gun aboard.
IMO much safer to keep the security checks and be 100% sure that no guns are on board the airplane.

That's why you should have multiple agents. There will always be a chance of it happening, but it's practically the same chance of the pilot being the terrorist.

Really good point. Haven't actually thought of that.
I don't get it. It sounds like it wasn't planned, because as you said, the chances are not really promising. But if it wasn't, why did he have the ski mask ready?
If it was actually planned, whats the point? Despite the chances being very slim of it succeeding, whats the gain? You return the plane to Oslo, and then? Chances are you will get arrested there. If it was planned to do something with the plane in Oslo, why wait until almost an hour before the destination to command it back? Why go back to Oslo otherwise, you just came from there.
It makes no sense.
Perhaps he left his toothbrush at home, and only realized towards the end?
He's probably one of those separatist Kurds and didn't want those filthy foreigners/non-kurds in what he thought should be his country.
And made a complete mess of it and an idiot out of himself.
Honestly, I think putting armed TSA Agents on the actual airplanes would be more effective than tons of security at the entrance.
We do that, they're air marshals and they've made two arrests in their 9 year history, costing us billions of dollars in wasted wages.
I think he was just crazy.

How many planes leave the US and other countries every hour? A logistical nightmare.
now was that so hard, americans?

flight 93
-snip-
I find it so hilarious that hijacking attempts will never be successful again. Before 9/11, people were told to just let the hijackers land the plane and their demands would be met and everyone would be ok. After 9/11, people said "fuck that" and damn near kill anyone who spouts out a threat. I love it.
now was that so hard, americans?
They dont have any oil.

Actually I recall one with two young men hijacking a plane just by saying they had a bomb.
Make an airtight chamber between the cockpit and passenger area.
When terrorist tries to force his way into the cockpit, the door behind him seals.
Pilots release <insert poisonous gas of choice> and make an emergency landing. Toxic gas is pumped out.
Terrorists will go bankrupt! Problem, terrorists?

Draw this idea with lots of squiggly arms, and you got yourself a deal!

Only ones I would trust with a gun on an airplane are the US marshals/air marshals.

Imagen someone shooting off a gun in a air tight plane. Cant be good.
Pretty nobel passengers if you ask me.
Oh god, brilliant. The Norwegian newspaper "VG" interviewed the guy who tackled and put the guy to the ground. He was a 54 year old norwegian, and he said (I quote): "The guy fell like a sack 'o potatoes. I was annoyed, not scared. He was what I'd called an armature."
What a badass.
The Norwegian weighed nearly 100 kilos and was nearly 2 meters tall. A true viking.

of course somebody would tackle him down.
think about it. either nobody does, and you all die. or somebody does and nobody dies. or somebody tries, fails, and everybody dies.
there's only one smart option.
Yeah, but I think it's still safer too keep anything dangerous such as a gun on the ground.
Guns can't do much to a plane, keep it low calibre so it hopefully can't rupture any crucial systems on the plane and you're grand.
Either way batons and bear spray would be best.

Yes they can. One small miss and you're damn near bound to hit another passenger. It's like shooting at one person in a crowd.

Nothing happens, there's no explosive decompression you see in all the movies.
There's a hole in the plane, some air goes whistling out of it, the oxygen masks drop down and everyone goes on, albeit ever so slightly colder.
