this is brilliant
I got "Drill my cloud, Calderon." What does that even mean?
Too bad there's zero evidence they're collecting all data sent over the Internet.
I don't think it's even possible for them to even do that. That would be a logistical nightmare. In order to know about every piece of data on the internet they must have a full time country of people reading everything 24/7 or have a very sophisticated AI do it for them. They would realize that a simple filter wouldn't cut it; even if they did use simple filters, the amount of data needed to be read would be terabytes of text. It's just not realistic with today's current technology.
if the NSA is actually collecting the 5 TB/Sec that the leaks claim, then this won't do shit.
As in 5 terabytes a second? I don't believe that for a second... At that rate they could record all info on google (360448TB) in 20 hours.
"Sick of having Chinese pork for dinner. I'm ordering Subway. Should put a stop to my explosive diarrhea." A+
This thing seems to spit out the same messages over and over
As in 5 terabytes a second? I don't believe that for a second... At that rate they could record all info on google (360448TB) in 20 hours.
http://www.businessinsider.com/pictures-of-the-nsas-utah-data-center-2013-6 There are also claims that the data center holds 5 zettabytes... and only costs 2 Billion USD. This would mean that the NSA is storing 2.68 terabytes of data for the impossible price of 1 USD. Edit: That's assuming the entire 2 Billion USD was used just to purchase data storage.
When people say "this crap is pointless." All that really does is influence even LESS people to participate, simply because they don't want to take part in something that is "pointless", and it actually WILL be at that rate. This could make a decent sized statement if done in mass. It won't be huge, since they have (or had) unlimited funding. It's still worth a shot...

Reminds me of this. There was another one that just put out a list of keywords
What terrorist uses twitter to communicate?? Mexican food + horchata shake = 1 am dirty bomb & a brown out. Like floaters off the dock, every time. hahaha

If you value privacy, why would you be using Facebook or Twitter in the first place?
"Mexican food + horchata shake = 1 am dirty bomb & a brown out. Like floaters off the dock, every time." how classy
1. Take pre generated tweet. 2. Google translate to arabic. 3. Post. 4. Enjoy your jail sentence!
The NSA probably has a dedicated Facepunch alarm at this point "sir, they're doing it again"
The NSA probably has a dedicated Facepunch alarm at this point "sir, they're doing it again"
Just wait until 4chan discovers this.
Haha because the NSA checks every message right? No they store it in case they need to build a case or need to do some background research on someone. They use this info once they have reason to suspect you're a terrorist.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/m1lKlwl.png[/t] :v:
I got this exact one :(
I'd like to imagine that somewhere, two NSA workers are at a water cooler talking about this and laughing about how anyone could think this affects them
"Isn't enough transportation security in Port Authority. Smells like a cartel set up a meth lab down there"
"Isn't enough transportation security in Port Authority. Smells like a cartel set up a meth lab down there"
I got this one too. This isn't random enough!
The idea is have a couple million people sending these things a few times everyday any it'll saturate their systems with additional data, which would require even more money to buy equipment to store it, and maintain it. It's a bit optimistic, but there really isn't much else to do, unless you enjoy fighting the courts which have been actively blackmailed by the NSA and their wiretapping.
I got this one too. This isn't random enough!
Because this itself is a sham created by the nsa and by using it you just put yourself on a list
So you want to protest NSA spy tactics by putting yourself in their crosshairs? Yeah.. even I ain't stupid enough to lay in front of that bulldozer. Folks have been getting felt up on a minuet-to-minuet basis at airports all over this country for over a decade and everyone that said "not me buddy" got arrested..er detained and hassled, but where is the outrage and protest? On the internet in the form of empty and indignant lip service. Have fun with the twitter love in though. And good luck. I think the premise of flooding their data collection with keywords sadly under-estimates their ability to analyze aggregate data.
All you guys complaining about this not having any effect at all need to realize that it's not supposed to. It's quick, political entertainment providing you with a few laughs and getting Vice in the spotlight.
أنا ذاهب لتفجير البيت الأبيض
felt up on a minuet-to-minuet basis
Ah, a fellow classical music enthusiast.
