Disney's 'Frozen' crosses $1-billion mark with Japan still to go

Brave was boring and painfully generic, it relied on the gimmick of pretty hair and that was about it.
Monsters University lacked all of the charm of the first film and felt almost like a re-tread.
Cars was just boring and uninteresting as shit.
Cars 2 is self explanatory.
A Bug's Life was pretty but ultimately shallow and full of annoying characters.
Planes was still made by the creative lead at Pixar so I count it.

All of those except Planes are great movies, and Planes wasn't even made by Pixar.
Good job.

Brave had a rushed and slightly generic story, but Pixar does what Pixar does best and turned it into something beautiful.
Monsters University shouldn't have the charm of the first film, it's a prequel. The characters aren't as developed as they haven't lived their lives yet. It's a perfectly fine movie in every aspect.
Cars was fine, it was by no means boring. It was quite gimmicky though, and it's a shame it turned into such an "icon" due to merchandise.
Cars 2 was fine as well, definitely not as good as the first movie though. It's more of a spinoff and probably shouldn't have gone with the same name.
A Bug's Life was amazing as well, the characters weren't annoying (except possibly Heimlich, he felt very... meh. Like they just stuck him in there for that ONE Heimlich Maneuver joke).
Planes was produced by Disney. The creative lead is only in charge of art, models etc. That's why Disney movies look identical to Pixar movies, because they keep using assets and animators FROM Pixar. It's the only good quality both Planes and Frozen had, their visuals.
It's a cheap move and it makes people confused and mix up who produced what movie, just like in this case.
I really don't get the appeal of this movie, the craze is like MLP all over again
isnt pixar dead?

princess fulfills her true self by breaking gender norms and also the mother is a bear
"painfully generic"

I've never really understood why being a fan of something means you've got to get all creepy and obsessive about it. My Little Pony, Doctor Who, that anime cripple game, Frozen, Homestuck, Adventure Time, etc. Fandoms irk me out big time. Isn't it possible to really enjoy something without monging out about it?

I do like a few of the things you listed but I'd never let an awful fanbase stop me from enjoying what I like but it seems like a lot of people here do

I don't let bad fanbases stop me from enjoying something, I just avoid the bad fanbases. I love Adventure Time, liked Frozen, and think Doctor Who is quirky and fun, but it'll be a dark day if I ever swap to a character avatar and start fanshipping for any of 'em.

Fuuuuck
Looks like you've got no choice but to dive in, Swebo. Have you started writing the first daft of your spin-off fanfiction series, where the deer falls in love with your self-insert "Original Character" yet?

Yeah, it's a heart wrenching story about the forbidden love between the Deer and reindeer human Sw(eb)en. It will have a lot of [del]sexual innuendos hinting at bestiality[/del] consensual petting. I hope you will be the narrator.
I would like to see a Disney movie that portrayed a male character as the lead, without a strong supporting female role. It seems like every single Disney movie focuses on a woman, and it would be cool to see what they'd do with a male.
there's tons of male leads in Disney films
there's actually more Disney movies with male leads than female.

i think there might be a little smidget of bias
lol I don't think you know what bias means
he has an avatar because he likes it, he's saying it's good also because he likes it
how is that bias

If you like something chances are you're going to defend it more than if you were neutral about it
So, you know, bias.
If you like something chances are you're going to defend it more than if you were neutral about it

no, bias isn't literally "having an opinion" it has to be unfair or intellectually dishonest to be labeled "biased"
such as "wow I really like Frozen because I work at Disney"
the thing that informs your opinion can't literally be the same thing as your opinion, e.g. "wow I really like Frozen because I really like Frozen"
being probably the only male Supernatural fan i know what you mean
Believe it or not there's quite a few of us, me and 3 friends hang out and watch it each time it comes out. We're just less loud because we're not trying to make incestual ships on tumblr :v:
I have to say the Let it go song bugs me, i mean it's a lovely song but the person singing it i can seem to hear some kind of electronic tuning or something in her voice and it's really offputting.
If you like something chances are you're going to defend it more than if you were neutral about it

That doesn't really make any sense. Of course he is going to defend what he likes, because he likes it? That's the whole point of it.
It's fucking overrated. The music made me puke.

I don't see the point of avatars, if not to use it for something you like. Of course I understand that there's going too far. But a simple avatar? Come on.
the "haha we're making fun of the old cliches!! HAHAH!!" thing got old really fast
the music wasn't very good
the characters were okay, but not that great, same goes for the humor
not as good as wreck it ralph and tangled, and definitely not worthy of 2 oscars and 1bil grossing, the fact that ralph didn't get an oscar (to BRAVE) and this got 2 is a fucking joke

and monsters u was better

oh my god yes it's fucking impossible to find communities online that shares your interest but isn't a total fanatic about it. Shipping??? fuck off I don't care.
Creepy fanart, creepy fanfictions like do any of these people actually like the show/movie? Or do they just like to alter the content to fit their own weird taste.
