I hope this wasn't intended. Now my cannon I was making is ruined :frown:

If you can't see it the dynamite now disappears after it explodes.
It broke wiremod :( :bang:

Okay, I don't know if it's just me, but fucking shit that sobel looks ugly as shit. looks like a screenshot noob filter raped his screenshot.

You over did it
Fucking update broke most of wiremod :argh:!
Good.
Great update, truly splendid. I have just gotten some readings about the velocity increase.
- The angular velocity remains the same (3600 degrees/second)
- Linear velocity limit has increased by a factor of 2. It use to be 113 mph, it is now 225 mph. (360 kph)
Now not to be a bigot because of this but, with all the good that comes with this, I care to ask if you could increase these values. From a contraption building point of view, the applicability of this is immense. Although thruster based mechanisms would be hindered (which adaptation wouldn't hard to achieve) for more mechanically intensive systems, the functionality would increase by orders of magnitude. For example, prop based cannons would be much more feasible because of the higher velocities which can be reached.
Now for various reasons, a very adequate limit would be something approaching or higher then sonic speed. (1,236 kph/768 mph). This is because most mechanisms operate under or at these speeds. Now a higher limit would hand better feasibility to projectiles (considering their mass is low) or other kinds of mechanisms. But in a general perspective, close or equal to a sonic speed limit would be wonderful.
Now I do not know if this would imply problems inducing to game performance or stability because of objects traveling at these velocities. But to the extent in which a higher limit can be established without sacrificing game performance, by all means please try to increase this value. If this is not possible for the moment, if in a future reference it is, please take this in mind.
Is it me or this update fucked up with the thirdperson animations? They seem to be reverted to their old, glitchy code

What do people have against wiremod?
What do people have against wiremod?
I don't like wiremodders because they're merely a bunch of elitists.
Furthermore, in my humble opinion, Wiremod has ruined the original spirit, the god damn soul of Gmod, which was "be more creative, 'cause you've got limitations"...

How is that an issue? I'd say this is more important:

Where'd you find that?

From the looks of it, that's a slide from the "From narbacular drop to Portal" presentation at the Game Developers Conference.
It's moments like this I wish the thanks rating was back.
[editline]06:56AM[/editline]
And thank God for the new background, the old one was dogshit.

YOu cannot assume that all users of the addon are elitists. It is difficult to deny that wiremod adds a lot of neat features and possibilities to gmod.
Furthermore, in my humble opinion, Wiremod has ruined the original spirit, the god damn soul of Gmod, which was "be more creative, 'cause you've got limitations"...

Wiremod, just like everything else in gmod, can be used more realistically to add more fun to the game. When you go from your "limited" hoverballs with a chair to using wiremod on ground vehicles, you know that limitation is not the case.
This is how updates should be. I think this is the first update in years that has truly done wonders for the game. Maximum speed is now 226mph, which is excellent, and very little collateral damage (only found so far is that thrusters have to be remade on adv dupes, which is okay).
Is angular speed increased as well? It seems wheel powered vehicles can't seem to gain much speed over the previous physics, an hl2 car tire could produce about 80km/h on wheel power alone and I can't get it to go much faster (around 100km/h). I know that wheel speed is limited because of the diameter of the wheel (larger wheels have higher top speeds).
[editline]09:04AM[/editline]
Projectile contraptions can now spew things at over 250 meters, previously limited to around 150 due to speed restrictions.
[editline]09:05AM[/editline]
I meant to say spew things over a distance of 250 meters. Strange, I can't edit my post.

You can tone Sobel down to more appealing look
maximum RPM is now 604. piss. wheel powered things are only 10mph faster.
You can tweak the max velocity etc etc yourself now, using the physenv lua bindings
You can tweak the max velocity etc etc yourself now, using the physenv lua bindings
I'm not great with lua; how does one set these variables?
fucking great. super cool wow background, and i can't fucking replace it because of 16:10.
I've noticed garry likes eye candy over originality for backgrounds.
Never really liked the one you picked to be honest, looks too photoshoped in a way.

I agree. I liked the simplistic Gmod 9 background with the gravity gun and paint can.
Oh sharrap. If I'd have added one like the GMod9 one you would be bitching that it isn't more eye candy, dramatic photoshopped looking.

Agreed.

Sobel effect looks fantastic with cars.
Can't wait to see new filters (If there would be any).
That looks terrible.
That looks terrible.
Well, maybe I've set this filter to be too strong.
[editline]05:31PM[/editline]
But hey, car still looks good.

I think it looks unnatural, and too dramatic.
Then again, I'm a minimalist kind of guy.
