Speaking of Dirty Bombs here's your daily obscure yet slightly relevant BBC from itak365. I just hope that whoever actually stole the damn thing has the sense to put it back.
They say the box which contained the cobalt-60 had been tampered with, but the material had not been removed from its protective casing. The material posed no health risk for the surrounding population, Mardonio Jimenez from the National Nuclear Security Commission told local TV.
-Source-
So essentially: "Man, so what's actually in this truPUT IT BACK JESUS CHRIST PUT IT BACK OH FUCK WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE"
10$ says they find a cartel hideout where everyone has died from radiation poisoning because some idiot just plopped the source down on the middle of the room without reading any of the hazard signs I bet they just wanted medical supplies to sell
It takes a while for one to die from radiation poisoning, 13140 rads can kill you in about 30 minutes. Assuming this isn't Chernobyl 1986, they will die if unprotected in a few months if exposed for a while.
So.. they recovered it right?
So.. they recovered it right?
Yes, but whoever stole it was probably exposed to life-threatening radiation and might die http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-25224304
