This is why I like push button ignitions
I can't believe people still buy cars from General Mistake
here we fucking go, gm vs ferd/any other brand ever debate #2398704327894 pack it up, it was a good thread while it lasted.
You bought a Challanger in Automatic? What were you thinking, man?
This is why I hate the car community why can't we just let people enjoy what they purchased. Plus if it's a newer challenger I'm pretty sure it at least paddle shifters so at least he can change gears himself if he wants.
This is why I like push button ignitions
They're neat but if there's an issue it costs a lot more money to fix than the normal turn-key.
most cars with push-button ignitions come with warranties ie they fix it for free
Apparently on my friend's late 90's SAAB 9-3, you could effectively disable the ability to unlock the car from the inside of the vehicle if you locked it a certain way. Seriously, you pull the unlock posts up and pull the door handle and it would not unlock the door. And the power unlock button was disabled. We called it "rape mode".
see, they think of everything
most cars with push-button ignitions come with warranties ie they fix it for free
do they cover you losing it? And even then, warranties don't last forever.
thats not even accurate and i hate it when the cell phone companies talk about that. they test a ton of other stuff, this was just an accident of unimagination, nobody at GM probably ever switched it off like that so they never thought to test if long legged people could accidentally die
Also you might not remember this, but Westinghouse had to recall thousands of refrigerators because they were catching people's houses on fire. Why? Because the start-assist component of the compressor (a positive-temperature coefficient device, basically a fancy thermistor) got WAY too hot and started a fire. Again, this is shit you either test, or figure out in the design phase BEFORE you ship it off to someone's house. "But Zero, there's no way they could've thought of that!" It's a device designed to change its resistance as it gets hot. AS IT GETS HOT. IT'S DESIGNED TO GET HOT. Maybe they should've made sure it wouldn't get TOO hot?!
You can't masturbate and drive at the same time in an manual. Manual: 0 Automatic: 1
Yes you can; you just rub one knob at a time, and hope your leg does t kick the clutch when you climax.

This recall effects my model. I'm not sure when/if I'm bringing it in. I have never even so much as touched they key with my knee, so it doesn't seem to be an issue in my case.
good, maybe we will see slightly less of these pieces of shit on the road from now on and they'll go and buy real cars
I realized it but you failed. It's not even about that; learn to torque converters.
oh you're one of those guys who backs up their car knowledge with that fantastic word -torque-
good, maybe we will see slightly less of these pieces of shit on the road from now on and they'll go and buy real cars
uhh what also recalls don't destroy the cars or anything, they usually fix the problem and then give it back to you. what do you define as a real car anyways?

Just I have a lot more fun with a manual then an expensive-as-fuck auto. Once your GM hits around the 150k mark, you're going to go into a world of hell with transmission repair.

My Camaro (third-gen) has some crazy recall where apparently little pinhole leaks may form in the gas tank neck and if the drips manage to get to spark it could blow sky high Probably should get that looked at
