Yeah, well, then you should do something about it. Weed is just a temporary (and a very bad) fix.
Yes, people should seek out a better solution, like expensive pharmaceutical drugs!
Yes, people should seek out a better solution, like expensive pharmaceutical drugs!
BigPharma told me I needed some synthesized drugs for my multiplicity of "disorders". Atleast I know that I have the chance of anal leakage!

If you cannot relax without the aid of a drug (legal or not) you have a problem and should seek psychiatric assistance. It's not healthy to be reliant upon a drug just to function like a normal person, and at the very least 'I need weed to relax' is a terrible justification for smoking weed on the way to a fucking job interview.
Yes, people should seek out a better solution, like expensive pharmaceutical drugs!
Ritalin gets me through the day. It's prescription (and free ) does that prevent me from being a fed?

I was just screwing around with the idea that people are automatically okay with all of the pharmaceutical drugs in the world when compared to other drugs that have stigma associated with them. We live in a funny world.
Background investigation, polygraphs, interviews with friends and family are all standard procedure for a security investigation. It's not all medical examination. It's not the fault of their drug policy that so many prospective employees are choosing to use weed. Their policy is to not hire people who fail to obey drug laws, and there are quite a few good reasons for that. As long as weed is considered an illegal drug, they have to treat its use the same as any other drug, and they're in no position to decide that one illegal drug is acceptable and another is not. FBI doesn't make policy, they enforce it.
If they want more programmers they should change their drug policy and that's it. From what the article suggests it is not like programmers are lining up in front of J. Edgar Hoover Building, crying their (bloodshot) eyes out for a job. It is the FBI who is trying to find 2000 qualified employees.
almost any government agency will have that rule it's why I've never touched weed even in states where it's legal you can't work for a gov. agency without agreeing to not use it the "just legalize it then" argument is stupid, the FBI can't legalize anything tbh people who constantly bitch and moan about legalizing weed are some of the most intolerable human beings on this planet like seriously shut the fuck up already omg
In order to change law and to end injustices (like harmless pot smokers being taken away from their families, jobs, friends, ect), you are gonna have to be loud. I'm sorry social progress is too loud for you to browse the internet in peace.
tbh people who constantly bitch and moan about legalizing weed are some of the most intolerable human beings on this planet like seriously shut the fuck up already omg
You sound like a teenage girl trying to be straight edge.
Guess this gives me an advantage for the FBI
the U.S. could not find enough programmers who did not use marijuana to fight cyber crime.
Excellent sentence structure
Isn't it impossible to program without weed?

that would be caffeine
Or alcohol. Programming is ten times easier when you're not sober, dunno why.
What? Hahahah wow I never thought I would ever see someone say this and actually have people agreeing with it because it makes no fucking sense. You don't want to hear it then too bad, because people are going to keep bitching and moaning about it until it's made legal. oh no here come the FP anti-drug drones
The people that bitch and whine about the legalize weed are so much worse than those who would rather it remain illegal. 'anti-drug drones' Yeah, fuck those guys with their Penicillin and Ibuprofen. Aren't those paracetamol fags just the worst? Yeah, maybe next time, try defining the drug.

No; quite frankly your kind of attitude is more annoying than all the people in the world shouting "legalize it" . But that's to me, because my word isn't law. I honestly don't even understand why you went on the tangent you did at the end of this post. It only detracts from your post
Some people can't relax without smoking weed
Then those people have a problem and should seek medical help. Like my dad who is bipolar and who smokes it several times a day and is the biggest prick you've ever seen when it wears off which is like every other hour. And goddamn expensive compared to actual pharmaceuticals when you smoke that much.
Where did I say my word is law?
Okay, it isn't. That's just how you were acting about it, or that's what I was feeling based off of reading what you said. I also still don't understand why you even bothered with the part about anti-drug drones. Like I said, it detracts from your post.

Some random thoughts on this general issue: The FBI is law enforcement, so if something is illegal, like pot, then they can't accept people who are doing it. Even if people in general don't have an issue with smoking pot, until it's legal then law enforcement agencies can't accept it. Football players(American) who are making MILLIONS of dollars, can't give up smoking weed. Yes, there are people who'll throw away million dollar careers because getting high is that important to them. What chance does an employer who will pay much less money have to convince people to not smoke pot?
that would be caffeine
proper low level programming requires copious amounts of alcohol, not caffeine
It's funny, I live near Norfolk va, jobs I've talked to don't even ask, it's almost at a "don't ask don't tell" with drugs. They pretty much hit on everything BUT weed, or they push your drug test 30 days out.
Its called an opinion.
I like how that's all you've said and you can't elaborate
almost any government agency will have that rule it's why I've never touched weed even in states where it's legal you can't work for a gov. agency without agreeing to not use it the "just legalize it then" argument is stupid, the FBI can't legalize anything tbh people who constantly bitch and moan about legalizing weed are some of the most intolerable human beings on this planet like seriously shut the fuck up already omg
Was anything ever changed in this government without people constantly "bitching and moaning"? Hell no. They made sure that there was some sort of discussion about it on a consistent basis. Why else are lots of states legalizing medicinal use or just outright legalizing it? It's because there's people out there actively talking about legalizing it. Telling everyone to shut the fuck up because everyone knows is just as stupid as those who tell everyone of their friends three times a day that weed should be legal.
that would be caffeine
Relevant
caffeine is the real holy grail of programming
Wrong on so many levels. It is proper sleep, proper diet and some exercise that puts your mind at the best. [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline]
Or alcohol. Programming is ten times easier when you're not sober, dunno why.
Yes but you make 10x more mistakes and need to fix shit after you sober up [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] But must add, smoking weed can sometimes bring you simple solutions when you hit the wall, but it has more to do with creativity than with logic.
weed addicts? [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] nice title ..

I don't like my programming to be determined by caffeine, alcohol, or weed. I can program extremely well if I get proper rest and food.
weed addicts? [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] nice title ..
its a figure of speech Sure, im not chemically addicted to Dota 2 but I play it way too fucking much. Bad comparison, but these people smoke weed literally constantly supposedly so people would say they are 'addicted' even if they aren't like literally addicted chemically to it
I like how that's all you've said and you can't elaborate
There isn't any need to. It's my opinion. I don't see what about that concept so so difficult to grasp.
There isn't any need to. It's my opinion. I don't see what about that concept so so difficult to grasp.
Well when you post in a thread about this stating what you did; expecting some more elaboration on why you think that way, isn't asking very much. But you seem to be confused, I'm having no trouble grasping that you don't want to elaborate on your opinion :v:
