What people are saying is that the KKK are more honest than WBC about what they really want. You know that they want white supremacy and you can treat that for what it is and classify the deeds done for the cause properly (racism, hate crime).

And when you picket a god damn funeral for 20 victims of the 2nd worst school shooting in history, you're bound to get some shit shoveled in your face.

Never mind the fact that they've even previously stated that if a member dies it's because god deemed that that member had done something to deserve it.

seriously though why are so many people here saying "welp the kkk might be p. bad but at least they're not as bad as the westborough baptist church :/" I mean even if that was true (it's not), why do some of you feel the need to point it out?? Do you really think that we need more people to tell us how f'ed up the WBC is? Secondly, learn to differentiate between ideology and practice. The WBC is completely batshit insane as far as purported ideology goes (although the only ideology they seem to actually adhere to is provoking people so that they can make money), but as far as practice goes, they've done nothing that even comes close to what the KKK has done. To imply that the WBC is somehow worse - presumably by practice - you're effectively implying that the crimes and egregious offenses that the KKK has committed against people of color throughout history are irrelevant. But quite frankly, the group of people that I am most pissed off at are not the KKK, nor the Westborough Baptist Church, but the privileged white liberals who have the time to protest an inane and almost harmless group next to another inane but not-so-harmless group, instead of protesting things that actually matter - like institutional racism and sexism, LGBT discrimination, illegitimate wars (that have resulted in the deaths of those very same soldiers that the WBC is picketing) and the ridiculous displacement of wealth in this country. And the people in this thread are no better. You want the WBC to go away? THEN STOP GIVING THEM ATTENTION BY MAKING THREADS ABOUT THEM AND FOCUS ON MORE IMPORTANT THINGS. Christ.
