jesus the republicans are going to do awful in the next elections. Everyone sees them as complete lunatics.
It's because the average Republican has gone so far right that they can't be considered sane anymore. Or rather the Republican party is a mechanism for publicity as opposed to public service. Not saying Dems are any better, but we really need to boot out the fucktards out of both parties and put some sane people in charge.
We've gotten to the point where we've just been adding on to the government, and things like welfare, social security, medicare and medicaid are being so abused that it's a giant outflow of money that should be corrected asap. The spending limit needs to be raised situationally, I agree, but it builds up to a point where we need to step back and say "Alright, where's the leak in the pipe?"
It's a giant outflow of money because there are a lot of people that need it, you ponce. You'd be a fool at this point not to realize this. They're really going to do it...
Yeah, my rage is at about 120%.
I know that was meant as a joke, but part of me can actually see that being... a real conversation.
I think Darpa is threatening the republicans with some sort of weapon that will destroy the US, if they loose their funding, maybe thats why the republicans wont cut military spending.
and things like welfare, social security, medicare and medicaid are being so abused
Abuse and fraud is completely overblown.
1.9% of total UI [Unemployment Insurance] payments for that year [2002], was attributable to fraud or abuse within the UI program.
http://waysandmeans.house.gov/legacy/humres/107cong/6-11-02/6-11find.htm
The Bush Tax Cuts expire in 2012 and Obama is going to win, this plan is still ok I guess, as long as it doesn't try a balanced budget amendment.
Abuse and fraud is completely overblown. http://waysandmeans.house.gov/legacy/humres/107cong/6-11-02/6-11find.htm
I wouldn't call what I'm talking about abuse now that I think about it, but I'm sure a large percentage of people on welfare and unemployment benefits are more than capable of getting back in the workforce. The issue is that for a lot of those people unemployment and welfare does better for them, and while that can be attributed to the current state of the economy, they really leave no incentive to get off of those benefits. So, I ask, do all of those people need benefits from the government?
So this is it, huh? The Democrats pulled the most absolute last resort they could possibly do and Republicans may (or already have) say, "Hmmmmm nope. Not good enough". As Miskav said, Good game America, good game.
The Democrats are better. You'd be a fool at this point not to realize this.
Sounds like you're not reading into what I'm saying correctly, I've been saying the Republicans are idiots this whole time, but the Democrats have some people who are just as retarded.
Those right winged nutjobs are going to ride this country right into the ground.. It's terrifying how willing they are to force the country into default if they don't get their selfish and horribly misguided way.

The entire rightwing is like a toddler in a Walmart throwing a temper tantrum because Mommy won't let them have a toy. Except the toy is like a Jenga block and if he gets it, the tower falls.
USA, if it looks like you guys are actually going to default, it'd be cool if you could riot in the streets and stuff
I wouldn't call what I'm talking about abuse now that I think about it, but I'm sure a large percentage of people on welfare and unemployment benefits are more than capable of getting back in the workforce.
You're sure? Well, I'm sure they aren't. Saying you're sure hardly constitutes what the actual situation is. Unemployment pay is a transitional thing - it's there so you or your family don't have to go belly up while searching for a job, it's treated as such by the government and by it's recipients. The average stay isn't permanent.
The issue is that for a lot of those people unemployment and welfare does better for them, and while that can be attributed to the current state of the economy, they really leave no incentive to get off of those benefits.
"A lot".
Unemployment benefits, which vary from state to state but average 36 percent of the average weekly wage
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/08/AR2010030804927.html
So, I ask, do all of those people need benefits from the government?
To ensure that they don't have to completely change their way of life if they are laid off?
Sounds like you're not reading into what I'm saying correctly, I've been saying the Republicans are idiots this whole time, but the Democrats have some people who are just as retarded.
Those are generally "Blue Dog" Democrats. Fiscal Conservatives, and the smallest congressional faction of the entire party.
USA, if it looks like you guys are actually going to default, it'd be cool if you could riot in the streets and stuff
I wanna go to Walmart and buy one of those aluminum baseball bats. Or like 5. If we get fucked over and riots break out, I'm not gonna fuck around in my basement.
USA, if it looks like you guys are actually going to default, it'd be cool if you could riot in the streets and stuff
My parents will most likely be losing their job/unemployment insurance, so I'll have nothing left at that point.
USA, if it looks like you guys are actually going to default, it'd be cool if you could riot in the streets and stuff
but then I have to get off the sofaaaa
Americans don't want to stop living above their means.
How am I living above my means? Are you a farmer who lives off your own produce? If not, please shut your mouth.

But if we had to we could have rolled into welfare (though that wouldn't be enough for a 4 person household by any means.) I'm not talking about unemployment as much as I am welfare though, which I clearly made the mistake of not clarifying, sorry. I understand that the economy really sucks, but I'm not sure all of those people really NEED welfare. I know there are plenty that do, but still, we need to encourage those who don't NEED it to try to get out into the workforce.

Your voices need to be heard, and you'd be heroes for all time if you managed to save the global economy.
Boba_Fett HAS STRUCK !
How am I living above my means? Are you a farmer who lives off your own produce? If not, please shut your mouth.
The tax rates for the US with the benefits provided by the government are incredibly disproportionate to a good portion of other countries.
You people should totally do it if this goes on. Your voices need to be heard, and you'd be heroes for all time if you managed to save the global economy.
I meant moreover self defense in case of riots, but alright, fair enough. :v:
You people should totally do it if this goes on. Your voices need to be heard, and you'd be heroes for all time if you managed to save the global economy.
If it falls through, you can bet I'll be in Sacramento on August 3rd.
Holy shit http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20083100-503544.html House Speaker John Boehner decried the plan as "full of gimmicks." They're really going to do it...
OH FOR FUCK SAKE.
Republicans wont let it happen because they all despise this country. That's right, I finally see it now, they don't do it for religion or for their own beliefs, they just hate america in all its forms, and want to see it destroyed.
I'm patriotic to the point where it's almost unhealthy. Don't tell me I don't love my country.
I meant moreover self defense in case of riots, but alright, fair enough. :v:
Yeah, when I say "riot" I don't mean smash shit up, I mean more like march on the capitol kinda thing
If it falls through, you can bet I'll be in Sacramento on August 3rd.
Where are you now? [editline]25th July 2011[/editline]
Yeah, when I say "riot" I don't mean smash shit up, I mean more like march on the capitol kinda thing
Considering capitol hill is halfway across the country, nah. But I'd like to join local protests for sure.
Honestly, I can't fucking wait until mass amounts of people band together and fucking riot like mad. Almost nothing, from what I've heard, is happening in that country politically, it's just a clusterfuck of 5 year olds bitching about what THEY think is right for the country. Count me in for rioting when this shit goes down. I'm coming from Canada. You don't fuck with Canadians.
