- Refuse plan that cuts more than your plan
- Blame Democrats for shit economy in 2012
US Politics are getting far too predictable.

The dems are getting pretty good at burning the repub's though. So it will be laughably funny.
The republicans are more stubborn than the Team Owners in the NFL negations.
If you watched the NFL labor dispute you'd know they meet more times that congress in their dispute.
I know, my family's been through that already. But if we had to we could have rolled into welfare (though that wouldn't be enough for a 4 person household by any means.)
Yup. Unemployment has helped my family a good number of times, but it's definitely not enough for everyone in the family. My dad has tried the whole "get a job, any job" thing for a long time, his list of employers is terrifying to say the least. I've seen the toll it takes on him.
I'm not talking about unemployment as much as I am welfare though, which I clearly made the mistake of not clarifying, sorry. I understand that the economy really sucks, but I'm not sure all of those people really NEED welfare. I know there are plenty that do, but still, we need to encourage those who don't NEED it to try to get out into the workforce.
Thing is, I don't believe it's an issue that holds much significance in comparison to the huge numbers the government needs to cut.
Those right winged nutjobs are going to ride this country right into the ground..
It's terrifying how willing they are to force the country into default if they don't get their selfish and horribly misguided way.
Not just the US, the rest of the world will be hit extremely hard as well. That's a good deal of why I care so much about this issue.

They've got some good ones in Congress. Al Franken, Bernie Sanders (Independent Dem. Socialist), and Barbara Boxer are pretty good folks.

Know that when the markets fall into another pit on August the 3rd, that it will have been the Republican's fault.

Yeah, I understand. My dad's employer list is pretty large but he's also a software developer and well.. they're a migratory bunch. Only been laid off twice, only once in my lifetime though.

I'm sure there are plenty of other things bleeding us dry, welfare's just one that everyone knows.

Everyone knows it because it's so overblown. :v:

House Speaker John Boehner decried the plan as "full of gimmicks."
They're really going to do it...
Those fucking cameras annoy the shit out of me. How are we suppose to understand what the speaker is talking about when their going off like stun grenades.

Just thinking. Once the economy fucks up yet again, can't the democrats just outright say that it was the republicans that didn't want to accept the democrats' budget cut worth a trillion or so more than theirs? Oh wait, the republicans would have their hands over their ears.
I love using my imagination and coming up with colorful thoughts of people rioting in the streets with guns and bats and fucking everything you can think of, all heading to the banks, and the republican representatives with their "Look at me, I did nothing wrong other than reject a better debt plan!" getting their entrails strewn about the streets of America. A war would break out within the country, causing mass chaos in the streets. The military budget would FINALLY be completely put to use, and tanks and soldiers would roam the streets. Defectors would break from the army and fight for their cause, using everything they were issued. Families would be lost, destroyed. Friends would never be heard from again. But would America truly be the land of the free and the home of the brave?
I'm sure there are plenty of other things bleeding us dry, welfare's just one that everyone knows.
It isn't "bleeding you dry" if it's important and beneficial to society.

That's probably what they're going to do.

In fact, Harry Reid said it in that video:
"In seems that the Republicans are more interested in embarrassing the President than doing what's best for the country."
The GOP plan then creates a 12-member "Joint Committee of Congress" that would additionally identify $1.6 to $1.8 trillion in deficit reduction over a decade. The House and Senate would consider those savings in an up-and-down vote, without amendments. If the plan passes, President Obama could then request a separate, $1.6 trillion debt limit increase.
"I think it would be irresponsible for the president to veto such legislation because it is a commonsense plan and it would avoid default," Boehner said at a press conference shortly after the Democrats unveiled their plan. Rep. Kevin McCarthy said the time had come for President Obama to start "putting people over politics."
Note the second paragraph.
Entitlement programs are a huge problem. They cost billions of dollars, and yet take in very little revenue to pay off their expenses. However, they are almost impossible to take away, as they are expected by the people, and cutting the programs out would mean that many people would be left without any source of income, which would hit especially hard in a time with such a poor employment rate. There really is no correct way to handle them and we would be ultimately better off had they never been created in the first place. It's really quite amazing that the policies of long dead presidents are causing so much trouble in the present.
Our military could also use some cuts. I wish the GOP would allow funding to be cut in the military, and the Democrats would allow funding to be cut in welfare programs.
Sadly, they're both too stubborn to do even that.
Note the second paragraph.
So we can have a default or a cuts programme that will literally ruin the USA

You need them or you would be in a much worse situation.
Patriots don't love a piece of ground.
Yeah, patriots love what we've done above the ground.
Except murder. And stealing. And lying. And... well, a whole bunch of shit.
USA, if it looks like you guys are actually going to default, it'd be cool if you could riot in the streets and stuff
I would hope people did riot if Republicans walked out again. (Or) if the default came no matter what by both sides.
welfare makes it easier to focus on getting another job, where they will then pay income tax

That's unemployment, welfare's for people who circumstantially are unable to provide for themselves.

Too stubborn to cut welfare and social services? That's not being stubborn, that's called looking out for those who need those services.
