Given that open fields are, well, open, I would assume that Israel would have a close eye on any and all open fields in Gaza near their border. That, along with the fact that Gaza is so densely populated, I think it's safe to assume that at least a portion of rockets fired from Gaza originated nearby civilian populations.

Sorry if I don't exactly take your word on it. I'll wait for the sources, if you have them.
Why don't they just use gunships instead of fucking bombs if they're worried about launch sites being near civilians.
Cannon - radius 10m and light urban damage.
Motherfucking 1000lb bomb - damage
Obviously they do not care about civilian casualties.
Several reasons why they don't send in gunships:
1: Will technically be in Gaza and will have justified enemy attack.
2: Gunships are giant targets especially in an area where there are many places to fire rockets from and a gunship can only cover 20* Degrees of itself.
3: If the gunship were to be shot down a large aircraft like that would cause tons of damage and if anyone survived from that they would either be beheaded and used as trophies or another hostage for Hamas to use.
Gunships aren't used to cover large areas.
Do you mean helicopter gunships or airplane gunships? For airplanes, I don't see them being any better at accuracy at perceived missile targets than bombs are.
As for helicopters, while they would probably have better accuracy, they'll also be more susceptible to fire from the surrounding area to bring them down.
That is, of course, assuming that Israel isn't targeting the civilian populations on purpose.
(I'm sure Gunfox will come in and blow away everything I just said on aircraft, though.)
Well I think the reason they don't is because they can't strike instantly so they just strike the general area of the launch site as a scare attack. Which, is unfortunately why civilians die.

Well obviously sacrifices have to be made in order to protect innocent Gazans, right?

So you are all for invading Gaza?
So you are all for invading Gaza?
Correct me if I'm wrong drones and combat aircraft are already invading Gaza, aswell as IDF operatives.

I was under the impression that, while Israel is fully prepared to have ground forces go in, they haven't yet. Unless this is happening now, or you mean something other than soldiers with "IDF operatives"?
Can't we all just sit down and have a nice talk about this and be friends? :(

IDF have released footage of them finding missile sits in Gaza with their special forces.

Im trying to find it, Ill let you know when I do because I saw it 3 days ago.

I still find it weird, because I would have expected the reveal of Israeli forces, even special forces, in Gaza as a significant escalation of the conflict and thus be heard around the media more (especially here on Facepunch).

This it?

Its from 2010, finding a missile silo. Its not really relevant now I suppose. But still, I'd accept a air raid and bombing campaign/constant enemy UAVs swarming overhead as a invasion.

Hamas are not IDF.

No, 2010 isn't the issue, it's the present conflict happening just as we type here.
Here's an article from CNN that says,
"The Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren, told reporters Monday at a briefing at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC that Israel would like to avoid a ground invasion, but war planning is complete and they are ready to move in if necessary."
That article came up November 19th (today or yesterday, depending on time zone), so I would think Israel hasn't sent any forces in yet.
Oh well yeah, by operative I mean intelligence people going into Gaza. I doubt they will actually do a ground invasion, by warning Hamas they just give them time to prepare.
Oh well yeah, by operative I mean intelligence people going into Gaza. I doubt they will actually do a ground invasion, by warning Hamas they just give them time to prepare.
Any intelligence operatives going into Gaza right now would not immediately show their findings across the web. If there are any, we won't hear about them until either they're captured by Gazans or the conflict is done and over with years from now.
Any revelation that even special operatives are in Gaza would seriously kill any chances of a diplomatic solution, and both Hamas and Israel know this. While Israel is more than ready to launch an invasion, I honestly don't believe they truly want to. From what I've seen, Israel's policy toward Arab lands is to slowly colonize it and force the locals out, not forcefully invade.
People need to cut the shit, War is war innocents die. No one wants to hold hamas accountable or go in themselves to remove hamas cause they don't want to lose troops. Israel doesn't want to waste troops either so if hamas fires a missile or mortar into Israel guess what, Israel will fire one right back at the same location it came from.
Are you guys telling me they should get away with it? That's just plain dumb.
Israel Katz, the country’s transport minister, has called “for Gaza to be bombed so hard the population has to flee into Egypt.”
While Avi Dichter, the minster of home front defense, has urged the IDF to “reformat” Gaza – to wipe it clean with bombs.
Even religious leaders joined the fray, with a prominent Israeli rabbi, Yaakov Yosef, the son of former chief rabbi, Ovadia Yosef, in a sermon at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron blessed IDF soldiers while urging them “to learn from the Syrians how to slaughter the enemy.”
The Syrian army has come under widespread international criticism for indiscriminately shelling and bombing whole civilian areas.

There are also some retarded statements from Ariael Sharons son, Gilad Sharon, about nuking gaza and having a complete wipe out.

To be fair, the western world HAS been doing a bit of favorization based on the religion of people.
Muslims are more different to us, therefore they do not deserve our help for some dumbfound reason.
I blame politicians.

Also something I find funny is this promotion of 'Judeo-Christian' values. It used to never be like this, Christians hated Jews, nowadays, the Christians will do whatever they say.
