With your example it would be more like taking out the graphics card, exploring every part of the mother board to ensure that what you will make will work in it without having anything to base it off of, then building your own graphics card and throwing it in. Reverse engineering is figureing out how shit works. You need to know how it works before you can start putting your own junk in it.

I get how it's funny to look down on brown people and their militarys, but can we stop underestimating Iran already? They aren't Taliban fighters. They have an organized, funded military, and who the hell cares if they haven't actually reverse engineered any Cobras, because they could probably just design a comparable helicopter from the ground up at this point anyway. You guys need to realize that fighting Iran would not be the same thing as fighting the Taliban.
