one day i am geting a skul-gun for my head
Also I wanted to include total gun ownership, but it's a bitch to find gun ownership rates state by state
Maybe psychological evaluations in order to earn the right to own a gun should become necessary.
Well, people like BlueSaint fantasize about a situation where they'd be justified by law in using it against another human being. I think the USA has a culture in some states or towns which is completely dominated by the gun craze.
No it's called defending your property.
It's still a hanging offense if you get caught stealing cattle in wyoming and you are able to kill said person if you catch them on your land.
We have this thing called trespassers will be shot.

This.
Keeps inbred red necks from having guns.

No, fuck off with that shit, I don't want to be denied the right to a firearm due to some dickhead doctor saying I'm somehow too unstable or I might shoot my self or something over me having depression or being under too much stress lately.
yeah the system is pretty flawed, but removing guns from the legal market would still let someone get their hands on one. A new and dangerous illegal gun trade would hardly reduce crime
This.
Sneak into mexico, buy black market arms, walk across border and bam you have guns.
you will prob also have a automatic function or 3 round burst depending on what you got.

No it doesn't

Eh, I'm a bit iffy on that one, because it seems doctors now-a-days are willing to call anything a disease/illness as long as they get to prescribe you medication.
Background checks don't really make a difference unless they're a repeat offender, in most cases the people who have shot up the schools had a clean slate as far as criminal record goes, making it perfectly fine for them to go out and buy a firearm, and at most places a background check isn't required to buy a rifle, just pistols.
Stop implying most of these students even possessed the guns legally to begin with, half of them were underage, and the rest couldn't even possess a firearm due to living in a campus dorm in a GUN-FREE ZONE

A mild psychological disorder wouldn't disqualify you. The test would measure intelligence, emotional maturity, and look for possible problems like schizophrenics, manic depressives, and maybe people with bipolar syndrome.'
You wouldn't have to be a fucking Einstein to own a gun, you'd simply need to prove that you meet the qualifiers of being a "reasonable and prudent person", that you have a good anger management skills, and that you display a measure of common sense.

Woops, it appears I completely overlooked that part gun-free zone part, my apologies, may as well disregard that post there then.

Like bullshit it won't, these days you get sent to a fucking mental asylum for saying you had suicidal thoughts once and simply being put on leave and you owning a gun is libel to get you raided by a SWAT Team in the middle of the night
process?
Did you mean possess?
Yes, thank you for correcting my typo
Maybe psychological evaluations in order to earn the right to own a gun should become necessary.
Earn the right? Simply being of age to own a gun is all that is needed.
Having psychological evaluations and even suggesting people have it is fucking stupid. Maybe you should get your head checked out. It is a waste of money and time, anyone can act normal. A true psychotic person can manipulate people and play the role of normal just fine.
Having the second amendment is fine, if anything make people take a weapon safety course and pass a test in order to buy and obtain a weapon. But a psychological evaluation? God the idea is so stupid i can't even make a comment on it. Hell most of the time people who go on killing sprees don't have any true mental true problems, they're just some random person who was pushed to the edge and they felt the only way to fix it was to take another life and their own. When crimes like this happen it isn't a spur of the moment thing where they wake up and go "hey I'm going to go shoot some people." It is usually planned for weeks if not months.
Golf is boring as shit anyway

Well said :golfclap:
Why is this surprising? Golf is very expensive, not a lot of people can afford it.

Well, the gun range is cheaper than the golf course.
actually when you add everything together shooting costs a fucking ton especially if you have more than one weapon, in terms of both pure money cost and the amount of time you have to spend on upkeep
golf is generally a one time season pass fee, bullets cost extreme amounts of money. 10 magazines worth of pistol ammunition costs about 45 dollars, and when going to the gun range you frequently have several people accompanying you; shit adds up. And that's before you buy bullets for larger weapons; for example, a 30.06 round is generally about a buck a round.
shooting ain't cheap, don't kid yourselves
All sports are expensive though. They're usually very expensive to start off with but once you get passed that starting point it becomes a bit cheaper and more reasonable.
So arguing about price is pointless.
it's obvious that it's not that shooting is cheap that people do it more than golf
it's because there's a ton of gun nuts in the south and ex national guard in the north

Stereotyping :v:
Well considering we have a lot of guns I'm glad we also have a lot of people who know how to use them properly.
If guns were lost the rate of slow death would go up.
Good.
Now if someone breaks into our homes we can shoot them instead of lob a golf ball in their direction.
And yes I would shoot someone if they broke into my home, it's called defending my damn family and home.

maybe its because people dont wanna get pushed around? you know? when someone tries to fuck with you, you dont just sit back, let it happen? take matters into your own hands? god damn some people are pussies.

"If you hear the word gun, it's usually something bad on the front page," said Brad Patterson of Milwaukee, one of the helpers at the event. "You come here and you learn it's a tool, just like a hammer, and if used properly, it can be just as safe."
Finaly someone who understands.
What? Since when did you become the law? Who dictates that burglary is a death sentence? Grow up dude.

Not true at all. Do you really think that some person who does not HAVE ANY mental problems would plan and carry out mass murder? Most of the mass murderers do in fact have mental problems.
