And that's before you buy bullets for larger weapons; for example, a 30.06 round is generally about a buck a round. shooting ain't cheap, don't kid yourselves

All sports are expensive though. They're usually very expensive to start off with but once you get passed that starting point it becomes a bit cheaper and more reasonable. So arguing about price is pointless.
