Valve already admited when EP2 was released that episodic content was NOT the way to go, that's why they're taking their time now.
I watched it last night hoping for content on hl2ep3 but no it was just hl2ep1 and ep2 clips, no new content on portal 2, or css2, and Nothing really important on l4d2.

The only sequel Counter Strike would ever get would be on a new engine, ala 1.6. Source really didn't change much from the original, there's not too much to change, it's as perfect as it can get.
