46 year old woman who raped 13 year old boy spared jailtime
Yeah, only a boy during puberty doesn't have a developed frontal cortex, which means he can't understand all the consequences of having sex. This is fine when you're talking about two 13 year olds. There's no power imbalance between them, no severe difference in life experience, so one taking advantage of another isn't very likely (though still possible).
Here, we have a fully developed 46 year old purposefully going after a 13 year old in order to have sex with them. That just speaks of manipulation and coercion to me, even if it's more emotional coercion instead of physical coercion.
Perhaps you're right. I guess it all depends on whether there are many cases of long term emotional issues after events like these. Is there any database for that? I got curious.
Did she look like Rick Moranis?
What the fuck? I live in that state......
I could understand that if we weren't talking about rape. But we are. Not saying that you agree with the judge in this case, I just get sick of judges using "contributions to the community" as reasons to give rapists lighter sentences (as in the Brock Turner case).
It's very clear the judge views her as someone that needs to be monitored, hence probation, but to assume that the woman deserves to be locked up for a momentary lapse of judgement shows that you haven't even gone near a psychology class in your life.
There is no gender basis here, one case was an ongoing affair from a woman in a position of power over a boy that ended in a pregnancy and the other is an isolated incident.
At least in prison she won't be raping anyone
Statistically speaking she's far more likely to be involved in rape during/after incarceration, so idk about that one buddy

In what world is sleeping with a 13 year old a "momentary lapse of judgement"? :v:
Glad to see women pedo-defence force in full swing today
Sex offenders have some of the lowest recidivism rates as well as unusually effective psych evals that can determine their likelihood of reoffending.
You are also completely unaware of all of the background information uncovered by the psi.
Meanwhile prison may dramatically increase the chance of reoffending.
Yes but surely there is a medium between 2 years of probation and that's all and 15 years in a federal prison (which yeah I agree is not a good place for anyone who's a non-violent offender). Like, you know, forced therapy and prevention from being in a place of employment that leaves them in a position of power over their victim's demographic. 2 years of probation is a fucking joke. You get 2 years probation for getting caught with a little bit of pot as a teenager. Why the fuck should a literal fucking child rapist get the same sentence as a teenager smoking a bit of pot?

The world of professionals weighing the context of the situation and considering the fact that throwing people into the brig just because doesn't solve shit
Sorry that there are people out there who are more knowledgeable on the subject that helped reach this consensus, idk what to tell you bud
Well statistically speaking women on average get a less harsh prison sentence for crimes equal/similar to that of men. When it comes to sexual abuse cases women are, mostly, given a slap on the wrist compared to what men get.
I think it comes down to penetration, women will always been seen as "submissive" because of it, even though these adult women preying on young boys will fuck up their minds just as much as if it was an older man preying on a young girl.
