If it uses the gamebryo engine i will poop on my face.
No you won't because it does.
Gamebryo doesn't bother me that much, but the thought of all the potential they wasted by not switching to idTech 5...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyrim#cite_note-engineign-2 Wikipedia mentions that Skyrim is forgoing the Gamebyro engine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyrim#cite_note-engineign-2 Wikipedia mentions that Skyrim is forgoing the Gamebyro engine.
That information was from the interview with Todd Howard which wasn't necessarily talking about TES V, however it is likely. Although I like the sound of this:
Executive producer Todd Howard has stated that the studio has invested in new talent to significantly improve the characters and animation over previous Bethesda games.

God, please keep the system requirements low. I ain't getting a new computer!
Yeah... Probably i7, 8 gigs of ram and a 2 gig video card.
They should keep that same jump animation from Morrowind for lulz.
Epic Mickey uses Gamebryo.
Was that supposed to be a counterargument? :silence: [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] Hurrah for wrong emote code
Please god make the system requirements SUPER HIGH. I want Skyrim to look beautiful. BEAUTIFUL!
Please god make the system requirements SUPER HIGH. I want Skyrim to look beautiful. BEAUTIFUL!
Please god make the game SCALE WELL I want people to stop acting like it has to be ONE OR THE OTHER
I hope skyrim turns out to be an interesting setting like vvanderfell was - Oblivion was too generic fantasy for me.
Am i the only person who doesn't mind gamebryo? Sure its not the best but its still coo.
Yeah, but they could do better.
Am i the only person who doesn't mind gamebryo? Sure its not the best but its still coo.
It's a clunky and outdated game engine. I really hope they finally ditch it.
I will leave this here for you guys: http://twitter.com/#!/Bethblog/status/14010984884604929
Oblivion and Fallout 3 and NV were bearable because we had the thought that the next one will stop using that shitty piece of shit excuse of an engine. If it's still going to use gamebryo, it's going to be the same fucking thing - it'll look fucking horrible, the gameplay will be horrible, it will be horribly optimized and extremely bug-ridden.
you played the game becuase you thought that the next game would not run on the same engine huh [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] Seeing lots of speculation about #tesv game engine. It's brand new... and it's spectacular!

Sweet mother of God. My favorite part of Morrowind and it's on a new engine?! Wake me up when it's 2011.
Fix'd: http://twitter.com/Bethblog/status/14010984884604929 New engine confirmed :holy:
brand new could mean brand new version of gamebyro
"you like to dance close to the fire, don't ya"
brand new could mean brand new version of gamebyro
they sold it. so it has to be brand new or bethesda modified id 5, making it brand "new"
New engine‽ Words cannot express the joy I feel inside.
There are now 3 different sources on it using a new engine. Official BethSoft twitter, Gstaff on the BethSoft forums, and a member of the development team's twitter.
My heart just stopped for a few seconds. Amazing.
Fix'd: http://twitter.com/Bethblog/status/14010984884604929 New engine confirmed :holy:
:pwn:
I'm excited. REALLY excited.
gamebryo! YES!
Your avatar is best.
I don't see why everyone has their knickers in a twist over Gamebryo. I'll admit it SUCKED in FO3 but I never had a problem with it in Oblivion. [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] I'd rather them switch over to something new though, of course
It wasn't the Oblivion version that really annoyed people, it was the fact that the game engine seemed to be getting worse as the games went on (up to NV where the engine is apparently more unstable). It was also that all of the games were riddled with the same problems.
I honestly don't mind a heavily modified Gamebryo, it only doesn't feel right in FPS's (Fallout, ughhhh). Still, I'm really hoping for a new engine. Either way, I'm still going to buy it.
Where does it say Gamebryo is the engine going to be used? :colbert:
It doesn't, they said a 'new engine'. Probably the new ID Tech 5 engine.
