More than a bit of exaggeration, both have their ups and downs. I'd prefer C++ myself but I wouldn't really mind C#. I do really love some of the C# libraries over the C++ counterparts, the C# serial library in particular is so much nicer than the C++ version and I end up having to use the C++ version a lot when working with microcontrollers

All depends what you're using it for really.
Enterprise level stuff I'd probably use C#, but otherwise C++ is fine for me
