The new iPhone 6 can bend by just being put in your pocket

Wat
You see, that's what we get when we start looking beyond our necessities and just want to get the biggest and thinest mobile in the market, when you could get a same performance, thicker and heavier phone, that's hundreds cheaper.
The whole industry needs to take a look at where they are going with design goals. Thin isn't better always. There are plenty of things that we use every day that could be made thinner, but aren't because it starts to create a myriad of other issues. I personally would rather them keep the form factor of say an iphone 4S/5 and keep it a reasonable thickness for durability's sake, and then update the internals. Develop new thinner, lighter batteries? Awesome, now you can increase the capacity and keep the same form factor. I would rather have a phone that didn't feel fragile than something pretty that you need to tip-toe around. As a furniture designer I'm constantly battling with that compromise and in the end, if it's fragile, no matter how pretty it is, it's usefulness is greatly reduced.
Same with Apple's new Mac Pro's, they are ridiculous, they break the given form factor and sacrifice a ton of practically for a novel feature.
Apple just needs to pull the reigns in a bit and make beautifully practical things again, without going too far.
We also threw away side sliders, anyone else miss those?

Hi, I like Android and iPhone equally. I'm buying a 6 plus next week. I currently have a Galaxy S III
They both have their flaws, but they also have their strengths. For one, I think iOS is a million times more stable than Android, however Android is much more open and unclenched to developers. iOS is very streamlined and it's UI is absolutely beautiful. Android generally has much more creative hardware designs and are much easier to modify.
My 2 cents is that people should stop bitching about which is better, and just enjoy what they have/like.
But of course nobody will take that because you guys need to have something to bicker over.

Yeah, I still have a Nokia N900, having a physical keyboard is awesome.
The Motorola Droid 5 is supposed to have one too, but its rumored specs aren't great, so that's kinda shitty too.
Except we're not bickering based on opinions.
The Iphone Six is prone to bending during normal daily use. This is a serious design floor.

I, for one, would not have minded a new Mac Pro tower, in the same amazing aluminum case. Apple really dropped the ball by introducing that tin can of a computer.
But I can make a better Mac Pro tower myself, by picking up a broken one on Craigslist and shoving higher-spec'd parts into it. Still working out a few of the minor issues, but I hope to have that done sometime next year.

Iphone six is just shite
Not entirely. They have the best-calibrated screen of any phone available right now, according to numerous color tests by independent reviewers. So that's something.
Durability and smartphones was always a issue for me. I wanted one before but Everyone I knew cracked their screens or did some other kind of permanent damage to it in a matter of months.
I got myself a Samsung Galaxy XCover2, it takes all sorts of abuse and I don't have to constantly be aware of having a delicate device on me everywhere I go.

hey just saying, no you can't
[editline]24th September 2014[/editline]
can't build a computer with comparable components for the same price or less.
the iPhone wanted to be an Galaxy edge so badly.
I wonder if this is an actually flaw or if it's the annual blow-up-iphone-flaws contest winner.

Oh, no, not the current Mac Pro, I meant better than the last-gen Mac Pro. The towers. I can make a PC better than the towers for cheaper.
The current Mac Pro is some sort of crazy engineering marvel being sold at a loss, but it's still round, and therefore won't feature the same longevity of the original towers.
Apple released iOS 8.0.1 to fix the bugs
it broke cell connection and touchID
fuck

Are you sure? Because I just built one to go against their $3,999 model, on newegg for $2818.
That's a Server 2011 board, with 16gb DDR3 ECC, two W7000 Firepro cards (closest to the 'D500'), 256gb of PCI-E SSD storage, a Fractal minimal case, and an Intel i7-4930k 6 core, that must be what they are using as Apple has theirs listed with a 12mb cache, and 3.5ghz, and the 4930k is 3.4ghz with a 12mb cache, 6 core. There are no Xeon on newegg that matches those specs, and for the purposes of this build they would perform extremely similar.

so i decided to go here
https://www.apple.com/mac/compare/desktops.html
and go by the most basic specs offered under the mac pro quadcore option, just to build the bare minimum
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qH6tkL
only difference is that i tried to get a gpu that performed better in benchmarks
i might be missing something but there's a $900 dollar buffer ($2098 vs $2999,) there
Only a fucking retard would run out to buy a brand new phone as soon as it comes out anyway. How many times do brand new phones end up having terrible issues at first? Always? Oh, yeah..

physical keyboard
man, if I could choose between a phone that's a bit faster and smoother, and physical buttons, IMHO, a physical keyboard would win
[editline]24th September 2014[/editline]
I seriously cannot stand touchscreen keyboards at all and nothing helps
why do phone manufacturers keep making phones out of metal when it's heavy, slippery and scratches easily

Only reason I'm getting a 6 is because my carrier put me up against a bit of a wall. My phone and contract goes up for renewal next month. If I kept my current phone, which is an iPhone 4S, I wouldn't be eligible for an upgrade until the next renewal. That's two years from now, which is a year past the end-of-life date for the 4S. It just made more sense to get a new phone now than wait two years and run into the same issue.
Kind of reminds me how the iPhone 4 lost signal when you held it a certain way due to a design flaw. Bunch of goddamn geniuses working at Apple quality control.

I disagree to be honest. My phone has a slide keyboard, but it's slow as shit. It's not very fun waiting 10+ seconds for it to actually dial, snap a picture, etc. I've formatted it and whatnot and it hasn't helped.
i have a samsung smartphone, i accidnetally let it drop while on the stairs and it fell 2 floors down
it shattered on the ground seemingly, i rushed down to pick it up and what do i see: the battery is out, the back plastic cover popped out
so basically, the parts that are removable were removed by shock THIS WAS ALL THE DAMAGE AKA NO DAMAGE
the touch screen didnt give a fuck and still works like it did
holy fuckin shit samsung
My s5 survived pavement. Face down. Not a damn scratch.
Arguably he stopped on this before he caused any permanent damage.
But what do you expect with an aluminium back? The plasticity of plastic like the s5? Lmao
Um my HTC One M7 did not bend in any way. Even if I were to apply force it would just snap if anything. It withstood more than what phones have to deal with in pockets though, it was roughed up while I was working in a warehouse for a year and it still worked fine. Why past tense? Well the headphone jack was getting a little iffy with connecting to my stuff so I had it replaced. If a phone can bend by just being in your pocket it has some serious issues.
The only reason I upgraded from a 4s to a 5s a little less than a year ago was for LTE. Once AT&T started rolling out LTE, 4G slowed down tremendously.
Other than that, my phone lives in it's Lifeproof case and won't be replaced unless a faster connection becomes available or until it's lived out it's hardware's usefulness. I don't do much on it, so I don't really need the newest high powered phone.
Wat
They were so worried about making their phone thin that they never thought if they SHOULD make it thin. Now this has happened because they were so focused on making it as thin as possible.
I know people have posted similar shit but here's my wording of it:
I love how all the iSheep are defending the hideous design flaw but if this were an Android phone they'd be having a field day attacking it.

Its just bad engineering. This little cunt is all aluminum too, but uses an internal component frame. It's still light as fuck but there's never been a case someone bent theirs.
Yeah Apple really should have taken a leaf out of the One's design book. That thing is incredibly designed. And it's pretty damn sturdy.
But seriously, the minute you use terms like iSheep and Apple Drones you immediately sound like a stuck up immature prick. Can the shitty negativity about something as small as phone choice.

My issue with the One is that because of the aluminum body it slides off my lap really easily but they made up for it by making it incredibly hard to break. I dropped it a lot because of how easily it slides but I only have two or three very small chips that aren't really noticeable.
