Too much :patriot: in here.
I sympathize with al Queda, they just want America to get the fuck out of the Middle East.
That's why they attacked on 9/11. After the Gulf War, the US continued to occupy the region, so they sent a big GTFO message.
They view Americans as terrorists just as much as Americans view them as terrorists.
wat.
Oh Al Qaeda, you and your tricky ways.
You live in Illinois. That explains a lot. Chicago much?
I don't live in Chicago. :v:
About 2.5 hours away from it.
And now we're over there blowing shit up, and I don't see how that's any better than ramming a plane into a couple buildings. We've caused a lot more damage to them.
We haven't deliberately slammed an aircraft into a building, causing the deaths of almost 3,000 people.
edit: Fuck. Broke my auto merge.

Ah. From my side of the fence, you only hear bad things about that city. Have yet to visit, though.
Anyways, what were we talking about? Oh. Right. Patriotism should be shameless, if they want to attack us on our soil and massacre thousands of innocents, I think we have every right to fuck over their dictators and sit on their operations. So long as we pressure them there, we don't have to deal with them here.
Cell structure, cell schmructure. A good chunk of them and their funding are out there, so it pays to hit them over there.
No "we" didn't.
Many Americans don't mind blowing up innocent Iraqis, as long as the troops get those darn terrorists.
Al Queda probably has a similar mindset. They don't mind killing a few innocent Americans if it hurts the American government.
So both sides are equally as bad.
I'm not trying to say it was okay for them to take out the WTC, but they had a reason for it. And it's not okay for the American government to kill civilians either.

We're just using different explosives.

I'd really like to see your sources for this one bro.

You're assuming our military is a bunch of bloodthirsty Muslim-hating barbarians. Fact is, we have strict rules of engagement that we are known to follow by the letter, and any innocent deaths are collateral damage.
When it's at all possible, the military will clear an area to prevent any collateral at all (as with missile strikes), but people fuck up, and the system sometimes buckles along the chain of command. Their sense of urgency gets the best of them.

America isn't the only country Al Qaeda hates, bro.
And 3000 innocent Americans isn't "a few".

If we had left them alone, 9/11 would have never happened. And I'm sure all the innocent Iraqis and Afghans appreciate getting swept up into the conflict just because we can't stand to look bad.
Fun fact: when the USSR invaded Afghanistan, the US was funding Osama bin Laden.

Idiots on the street who have no clue what is going on in the war are not the same as American soldiers.

We...WERE leaving them alone? Shit, if we ever touched Al'Qaeda during the mid to late 90s, it was probably classified.
9/11 had been in planning for years. The downfall of the West is part of their ideology. Once they make up for the invasions of the European armies during the Crusades, killing millions of Westerners (especially Americans, for our transgressions upon their faith; whatever) and converting or executing any infidels, they might stop.
Might.
Because there's also the Return of the 12th Imam to deal with. And that's a whole higher level of apocalypse the government of Iran is shooting for.

In the post I was replying to, I said that dumb American citizens don't care if we blow up the entire region.
But no apologies for you unless you're Muslim and on his side.

Thanks for the incredibly accurate source. I now know that most of America would nuke the middle east if it killed all of the terrorists.
This is just a ploy by them to improve their imagine in Afghanistan. They are killing thousands of civilians in their war and they are turning on them. So now they are trying to act all lovie dovie
al Qaeda logic: Even if you praise the all-mightly Allah, we still don't give a shit about your life.
Duhh, unless you are an idiot who thinks that Al Qaeda just wants to kill people for fun, you'd realize that they have a goal they are fighting for. It's getting rid of the infidels trying to invade their country/ just not believing in Allah.

You said "Many Americans".
Not the same as "dumb American citizens".

I'd beg to differ.
no i jest
I guess that means 9/11 was totally ok.
Nobody condones it, but you have to consider the amount of their people the US has killed.
Nobody condones it, but you have to consider the amount of their people the US has killed.
Most soldiers don't make it a priority to kill innocent civilians. Most of the time, civilians die in the crossfire, which is not on purpose, compared to the killings of 9/11.
You can't say that 9/11 is a fair trade for civilian deaths in the war.

Then why is there crossfire?
Then why is there crossfire?
Is this a rhetorical question? Cause I would imagine that the existence of crossfire has something to do with a war.
Then why is there crossfire?
Because soldiers are taking aim at the people who are taking aim at them or who are a threat. Civilians are not a threat. But when a civilian is trapped in the middle of a fight and runs in the middle of things in order to get out of there, it can be easy to confuse them with the enemy. Sure, there are some soldiers who are heartless enough to kill everyone they see, but you can't have those asshole soldiers represent the entirety of the military. Accidents happen, and to say that 9/11 was warranted because of the civilian deaths that have happened during the war is stupid and ignorant.
Also, you're not taking into account how many deaths have happened that haven't been caused by American soldiers.
I never quite got why Obama revealed how many troops were sending and the approximate in which we'll start withdrawing.
They genuinely do care, because they believe that Allah wants them to care.
Al Qaeda is so nice.
That's why I support Al Qaeda.
According to the article, it's only condolences to the Muslims killed.
