I don't see how you can possibly sustain a population when nothing is being born.
When there is a larger population, babies ARE being born because there are more pandas mating. Your argument is invalid because if babies were never being born for the panda population, then the panda population would not have reached its height some number of centuries ago.
tweet about it
the funny thing is he does have a twitter.
but he doesn't use it.
only to complain to me that I tweet too much.
because I do. About shit nobody cares about.

The reason pandas are dying off is because they're not mating.
The reason pandas are dying off is because they're not mating.
No, the reason why they seem like they aren't mating is because the rate of occurrence at which the naturally mate is suited for a larger population. If there was a larger population, then there would be babies being born.
I also said that here:
You're missing the point.
Because of habitat destruction, their numbers have dwindled. In a larger population, their mating patterns would have sufficed to sustain that population.
and here:
No, in a larger population they would have sustained that population because their natural mating rate is tuned by evolution to match their natural population. It's not like all the pandas just decided to say "oh I don't wanna have babies anymore", it's because of changing conditions that their populations are dwindling.
But there isn't a large population of pandas. They're killing themselves off.

No, the reason why their population is so low right now is because of habitat destruction. We set off their potential extinction.

No, they just wont procreate.
And if that is all that was needed to set of their extinction then boo fucking hoo. It was a weak species to start with.
I hate threads like these now because everyone goes batshit insane about their own opinion and then insults fly everywhere and people pretend they aren't crying, but inside they are.
Not really, but people always put their opposite opinion making it seem like they are right.

Listen. If there were only 200 humans left, I am pretty sure they would understand (like any other creature), that fucking is now important. Pandas... not as smart.
Listen. If there were only 200 humans left, I am pretty sure they would understand (like any other creature), that fucking is now important. Pandas... not as smart.
You must also add that there would be a species higher up trying to get the humans to procreate.
No, they just wont procreate.
Let's look at what I have said four times so far through a step-by-step:
Step one: The species that we commonly know as the great panda appears in China.
Step two: The number of pandas increase. As a result of the increased population size, pandas evolve a slower rate of reproduction because sex takes energy.
Step three: Pandas maintain a good population size because of their refined mating rate.
Step four: Humans come and take some habitat for their agriculture. This kills some pandas.
Step six: The panda's slowed reproduction rate can not keep up with the number of pandas killed by habitat destruction.
Step seven: Pandas die.
You must also add that there would be a species higher up trying to get the humans to procreate.
God likes his porn collection to grow (or were those aliens?)?
billeh, i have a question
what role does a panda serve.
ex: bats are vital for the ecosystem since they do shit to plants and fruits.
panda eats bamboo all day and look cute.

You think they have cute little panda statisticians in white little lab coats that perform censuses on the number of pandas on earth left alive and then release reports to their little fellow pandas of their results?
Well, they are a slowly reacting species. that is well... bad for a specie, to be as such.

When I see an empty city, I would be pretty damn sure that not everything is ok - especially if internet goes silent.

Sounds good. Good work.

Panda's fault. They can't adapt, therefore they are inferior to the more adaptable species and were doomed to extinction.

They're also good at sucking at living.

Pandas shit.
But really, I'm not arguing the usefulness of the panda to China's ecosystem, I'm just trying to explain why the panda got to be endangered the way it is because of human intervention, not because pandas as a population suddenly decided to stop having babies.

They give some obscure thing to put into anime.

Because pandas see a lot of each other in the wild either way, right?
Pandas shit.

if the panda has no role, i demand it goes to extinction immediately.
Because pandas see a lot of each other in the wild either way, right?
With a large population - yes.
Pandas have terrible logic skill.
Panda's fault. They can't adapt, therefore they are inferior to the more adaptable species and were doomed to extinction.
Not many species can adapt to a sudden change that occurs in less than 200 years. Only very generalist species survive an encounter like that with humans.
if the panda has no role, i demand it goes to extinction immediately.
Slightly cruel to say.
A more suitable way of putting it would be.
It's a species with no usefulness and an inept rate of reproduction, fuck them as they can't fuck.
With a large population - yes.

No, pandas are large mammals that are not social. They do not see each other much other than for mating purposes.

We humans, are a force of nature. Too slow? GONE! OFF THE FIELD, PLAYER!
We humans, are a force of nature. Too slow? GONE! OFF THE FIELD, PLAYER!
No, we humans are animals. We are of nature, not a force of nature.
No, we humans are animals. We are of nature, not a force of nature.
Then what's the problem with letting pandas die?
Is it unnatural for a mud slide to destroy an environment and cause the extinction of a species?

I don't really have a problem with letting pandas die off. I was just trying to prove that the reason why the pandas are dieing off is because of our civilization, mainly.
