Reputablle Naturalist Says We Should Let The Pandas Die Out.

The goal of every animal is to be the dominant species.
Humans won.
At least polar bears are trying to survive. All panda bears do is sit on their fat asses and wait to die. And here we spend millions on these wastes of resources that don't do shit. Either adapt to your god damn enviroment, or die.
WTF? Who are they to decide the fate of a species?
You realize we already are deciding the fate of numerous species; to keep them alive.
The bald eagle and pandas would be DEAD without modern conservation efforts.
When we alter nature in a "positive" way, it's alright, but if we alter nature in a "negative" way, we're out of our rights.
Life and death are natural occurances, it's not evil to allow an animal to die.
I do think that we should take care of nature, but it should take care of itself to a degree. We don't have to play God and try to keep everything alive.
:wrongful:
see what I did there?
Now I made you seem like an idiot. Cool, huh?
No, that was neither hip nor cool like previously indicated.
I swear, you people are evil fucking bastards. If we kill polar bears, or whatever the fuck this thread is about, all polar bears will be dead leaving less cuteness!
At least polar bears are trying to survive. All panda bears do is sit on their fat asses and wait to die.
What are you doing
You are anthropomorphizing bears
Pigs, rats, fish, insects, hell even plants like algae, weeds, and even some trees.
Nature isn't lovey dovey. It's cruel and harsh.
Of course it's cruel and harsh. But if you believe that plowing down rainforests and polluting the water are just how nature works, you're kidding yourself.
That being said, I still put human development first. But I see no harm in keeping alive some species that we have obviously had a negative effect on.
It's true. They're a species that's only able to feed on a single food, and not too good at breeding. They may be a cute lifeform, but that's not necessarily a survival trait. Now, if genetic modification weren't so much of a taboo, and were a bit more advanced than today, we could breed a form of super-panda that was more capable of surviving, consuming all manners of food, and successfully breeding. Add that, plus sapience, humanoid form and the capability to exist in close-knit groups, and you've got yourself a species more than capable of surviving in the face of extinction.
Sometimes, evolution needs a boost. Pandas surely do, that's for sure.

What the fuck!? You want to make furries? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!? :byodood:
The notion of anthromorphized lifeforms is tainted by the bad rep that the furry fandom has recieved, but if a species achieves sentience, it's chances of survival increase rapidly. That's how humans became dominant, after all. Ascension to sentience would be a "godsend" to a failing species, as it would allow them to actually survive better, able to manage resources and community.
Before you reply, put your predjudices away whilst you type, and try to see the boundless benefits that uplift would have to a species, and to the way humans think. It'd force us to rethink our perceptions of life, and how we act. Anthromorphic lifeforms are not all about sex-related things. They're a different form of life, that's all.
All in all, pandas aren't able to evolve fast enough to keep up with the evolution of the environment and the evolution of the human mind. Ascension may be the only answer to saving a species that is otherwise destined to extinction.

Why the fuck would you want to do that in the first place anyway? There's already enough people as it is, we don't need any pandamen to fill up space...
Not to mention that it would devastate the ecosystem.
Well, they could be kept in small secluded communities, like in that movie The Village, kept under the illusion that only evil lies beyond the forest, where they'd remain at small populations until the day mankind's numbers drop enough for the world to sustain a larger population.
there are cuter animals like cats and rabbits
Yeah, but they're successful, more-adaptable species than giant pandas.
Yeah, but they're successful, more-adaptable species than giant pandas.
That's why they are alive, and that's why we like them, they don't die just because you don't have colonies of rare mice living right on top of them.
ITT people talking out of their asses

Pandas need all the firepower they can get.
WTF? Who are they to decide the fate of a species?
Exactly. We're already doing what they can't to help them live, we've already decided the fate.
I say we start doing like some cow farm places do, where we breed the best of the best to one day create a SUPERPANDA. In all seriousness though, if we breed them properly and only the strongest survive, maybe they'll turn into a species that doesn't suck at...well... LIFE.
We should just stop preserving them and try to see if they survive. If not that is how it should be.
Pandas being cute is by far a good enough reason to keep them alive
If we can keep them alive then we should do it not because they should continue to exist, but because we can.
It's a golden opportunity to take control away from the randomness of nature and taking things into our own hands, and in the process find new ways to bend the randomness of nature to our will.
We're humans, and we improve our way of life by shaping the world around us to what we want it to be. There's no shame in that, we just have to be smarter about it than we've been doing so far.
In scribblenauts pandas can ride each other and bicycles and you can ride them

Playing God?
Panda's are fucking worthless, they brought this upon themselves by evolving the way they did, they are a dead-end evolutionarily.
I mean God damn, they are too lazy to fuck even if they give them not only Panda Porn, a viable and attractive (to them, I guess) mate and all the time in the world to do the deed? That's a man's dream, and they can't even perform the simple act of procreation?

That's the problem, they don't breed.

This is a fascinating new approach to environmental preservation
"Don't do it"
I want to eat a panda. It is my sovereign right as the superior predator.
You're only sovereign predator if you kill it yourself
[editline]11:23PM[/editline]
I don't know if weapons are allowed
[editline]243662[/editline]
Maybe in Ultimate Predating. Not in WPF but those are all staged anyway.

Okay, but you have to kill it with your bear hands.
Maybe in Ultimate Predating
