But...but..but I like pandas :frown:
Like it really maters whether or not we should save pandas, we do things because we can and it doesn't always have to be practical.
I've heard about this example numerous times. The reason Pandas are having such a difficult time is that their primary food source, bamboo, has evolved to store food in its roots instead of its stems. And it is the stems that the pandas eat, and they are hardly getting any nutrition out of that, thus why they must eat so much.
One guy says we should let pandas die, therefore we should all just accept his opinion without a second thought.
Why not? I believe being able to play "God" is a goal that we should work towards, not something to avoid.

this comic is highly unrealistic and portrayal of anything is outlandish. everyone is to disregard this comic.
What is medium?
How do you define medium? If medium is what you can smell and see and touch, then medium is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. [editline]05:46AM[/editline]
Doesn't work like that. Look honey, you need more then 160 individuals to keep a viable genetic population.
it worked for noah!!
You really don't get what that's trying to say? It made me laugh.
He's trying to say if we poop in a hole, poop will rain from the skies. Silly kiddo, go back to school, science don't work that way.
Doesn't work like that. Look honey, you need more then 160 individuals to keep a viable genetic population.
Is that all in one generation?

Oh OK
By his logic we should eliminate all other species because they won't be able to survive anyway when our planet turns into one giant city.
By his logic we should eliminate all other species because they won't be able to survive anyway when our planet turns into one giant city.
Rats would survive, and we'll still have zoos, and we'll have sea under the floating platform.
Fuck him, pandas are so cuuuuuute.
I read that, then saw your avatar, then put the panda in and...ehhhh, not good.
Rats would survive, and we'll still have zoos, and we'll have sea under the floating platform.
Irradiated mutant rats, animals like dogs and cats in zoos, and a stagnant, shit-filled sea.
^ obvious shop.
...it was in tropic thunder you dunce. [editline]06:08PM[/editline] We should though, we shoudn't intervene with natures way.
By his logic we should eliminate all other species because they won't be able to survive anyway when our planet turns into one giant city.
Who's logic?
So most any animal anywhere?
Insects....
Fuck him, pandas are so cuuuuuute.
Does it matter
160 Individuals starting out.
But the Holy Bible has proven that you only need 2 of every species.
Insects....
Insects shall perish too. Except bees, because bees make honey.
Insects shall perish too. Except bees, because bees make honey.
And because if there were no bees, many plants would die off because they couldn't get polinated. We depend a lot more on other animals than we like to think.
Well, it's not our fault that they can survive on their own.
And because if there were no bees, many plants would die off because they couldn't get polinated. We depend a lot more on other animals than we like to think.
Not only bees pollinate. In fact, some plants pollinate themselves.
Fuck him, Panda's are awesome.
But the Holy Bible has proven that you only need 2 of every species.
But back in Bible times there were lots of creatures we don't have today, like the flying penguin and the hundred-toed slug. Then diseases like the leg-falling-off-disease came along (even though Noah only took two of each in (that was a bugger, let me tell you - Noah.) they multiplied so rapidly it's hard to know how many came out) and killed them off and now we have normal animals like the pig, the bumblebee, and the naked mole rat.
Insects shall perish too. Except bees, because bees make honey.
Bee's are dying out anyway, at their current rate they'll be extinct by 2040 or so.
