He should've applied to the local council for housing benefits, given that's what they exist for.
lol, like you can survive off that IF your accepted.
lol, like you can survive off that IF your accepted.
If you're on a low income, whether you're working or not, and need financial help to pay all or part of your rent, you may be able to get Housing Benefit. Find out more, including who is eligible and how to claim. derp

IF YOU'RE ACCEPTED! derp anyways, he broke no law.
How dare this asshole? Wanting to survive and taking refuge in a vacant house? And on top of it he waas courteous to the house? TO HELL WITH THAT WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!
The trouble with this is, what happens after six months, he's turfed out where he still has no money or home. Where does he go once he's left prison.
He can get an alternative (cheaper) payment method for World of Warcraft if he can't afford the regular monthly fee, by contacting Blizzard Billing Support.
I was unfamiliar with the term "squatter"; from the title I thought someone was shitting in people's chimneys. I hope this guy ends up alright.
At least he won't freeze on the streets for six months.
Until next year when he gets out of jail still homeless.
It's sad that Poles come over to the UK not fully thinking through what they're doing in terms of a job or housing and in the end turning homeless. I guess that's how it is, the man got a fair sentence even though it could've been shorter due to the fact that he was orderly.
actually to say it's against the law is a big stretch considering law only includes natural law which is Cause no harm or loss, which means it's either an act or a statute...
if you look at it from a purely legal standpoint he stole keys and used them to enter the house without the owner's consent he used the stove and TV - someone's gotta pay the electric bill for the use of those appliances
and anyway, don't look use whether something is legal or illegal to help determine whether it's good or not. with morality, law is irrelevant. people are more important.
I didn't you misinterpreted what I said I meant it's morally grey what he did (sure he broke into an empty house [though it's not quite that simple] but only to stay warm) but it's still illegal also you once again ignored my original question:
why didn't he just go to a homeless or emergency shelter
Some polish man did this to my brother, they where cooing in the kitchen and he walked into the sittingroom, but the thing was that he wasnt homeless, just drunk :v: [editline]31st December 2010[/editline]
if you look at it from a purely legal standpoint he stole keys and used them to enter the house without the owner's consent he used the stove and TV - someone's gotta pay the electric bill for the use of those appliances I didn't you misinterpreted what I said I meant it's morally grey what he did (sure he broke into an empty house [though it's not quite that simple] but only to stay warm) but it's still illegal also you once again ignored my original question:
There isnt that many shelters around belfast Tbh.

I don't know what to think of this. Sure, it was illegal and he was polite about it, but it is still illegal, and I would be very afraid if I came home to a man sitting there. It's also sad because we all know that almost nobody would agree to take him in. There should be a special law for this sort of thing.
There should be a special law for this sort of thing.
No, stealing and squatting shouldn't be legal. At all.
actually to say it's against the law is a big stretch considering law only includes natural law which is Cause no harm or loss, which means it's either an act or a statute... and anyway, don't look use whether something is legal or illegal to help determine whether it's good or not. with morality, law is irrelevant. people are more important.
If the government should not make morality into law with gays or abortion, it should not involve morality in other areas either.
Good, poor guy will have a place to stay, heat, shelter and good food. Jail isn't so bad as long as you don't get ass raped
If the government should not make morality into law with gays or abortion, it should not involve morality in other areas either.
This is a thread both discussing law and morality, which SHOULD NOT BE SEPARATE! I was simply acknowledging the fact that people should take presidence. P.S. what is morally wrong with gays? P.S.S. the fact that there is a dilemma between what is right, and what is legal shows that THINGS NEED CHANGING!
knowing the prisons in the uk he will get better looked after in prison than any of the current homeless do anyway.
at least he'll be all warm n shit
Should've given em a lifetime sentence, free housing for the rest of your life.
