yes they did. The game calls it an awp, even the texture files for are named awp, and when you get a kill look in your console and it says XXX killed XXX with weapon AWP.

Who said that Valve made it? This was posted by the German EA Youtube account, not Valve. And seriously, what's so bad about having bonus weapons in a version of the game? They're just extra weapons. NA gets a bat, Germany gets some old CS weapons.
