Nothing beats having an ice cold beer with your bbq. You aren't going to do that in the rain. Ordinarily I'd pass on the ice cold beer but when you're having your cookout on a hot summer day, let's say 90+ degrees, THEN an ice cold beer kicks ass. Otherwise you're just cooking in the rain.
People who think they will die because of a little bacteria on the barbie, weak.

I'm just saying I fucking bbq'd meat and have a crew that's always down to barbeque regardless of the weather. don't let anyone tell you when you can and can't bbq
73% of chickens sold through retail channels tested positive for the presence of campylobacter
What the fuck how is no one getting in trouble for this?
What the fuck how is no one getting in trouble for this?

Campylobacter is found most often in food, particularly in chicken. Food is contaminated when it comes into contact with animal feces. Any raw poultry may contain Campylobacter, including organic and “free range” products. In fact, studies have found Campylobacter contamination on up to 88 percent of chicken carcasses. Despite the commonness of Campylobacter, however, infections are usually isolated events, and widespread outbreaks are rare.
Apparently, its just a well known thing for Chicken.
Apparently, its just a well known thing for Chicken.
Yeah, it's a sign the conditions are so shit that an infection like that is "normal"
Yeah, it's a sign the conditions are so shit that an infection like that is "normal"
Shit doesn't even begin to scrape the surface on the deplorable conditions those farms are.
Guilty as charged when using tongs on a BBQ, and I even have a certificate in hygiene. Though that is just for when I am cooking for myself, I don't really want to be blamed for giving someone the shits.
All this 'hygiene' rubbish... honestly. I never cared too much beyond 'wash my hands when I can see dirt on them' and take a shower once a day every evening. Tell you what... I NEVER GET ILL EVER. AT ALL. Wanna know why? Because I was ill a lot when I was younger... you build up an immune system. Slightly undercooked chicken? 3 times reheated rice? All good.
If your cooking a BBQ you might want to be concerned about others hygiene too. Having a good immune system yourself is real nice but that's not why this is bad it's because usually you have lots of people eating at your BBQ including kids. Also the danger of cross contamination which no amount of dirt eating as a kid will protect you from.
Also, may I just say, as an argentine who considers grilled meat as a third language... that your BBQs not only horrify me, but also, bad weather *never* stopped us from having a big, fat, properly grilled flank steak. Don't be afraid to get a little wet, lads! [editline]12th August 2015[/editline] Sorry. :/
You're telling the british to not be afraid of getting wet by the rain!?

Don't be afraid to get a little wet, fellow Brits :v: hahaha
What the fuck, if you're really using the same utensils and not washing your hands then you're lacking basic fucking kitchen hygiene. ALWAYS, ALWAYS wash your hands before preparing food (especially meat) and always clean your utensils, because what is cross contamination, right?
You're telling the british to not be afraid of getting wet by the rain!?
Well... yeah! So far it's the #1 excuse for most of the people who commented on this thread, on why they don't have BBQs when it rains! [editline]14th August 2015[/editline] It's not the end of the world, ya know... :v:
