I don't keep everything I know bookmarked. This has been going on since the blockade was formed, and is pretty much common knowledge at this point. I'm not sifting through hundreds of pages of current events to find it for you.
Actual we support them because they are one of the few stable democratic governments in the middle east, and if your gonna bring the Holocaust in on this you might as well bring in the fact that half of the middle east would just love to roll into Palastine and take it back. Sorry that Israel has a ton of enemies and they take measures to stop potential attacks.
I can guarantee you that if Israel would stop illegally passing it's borders, blocking humanitarian aid, and cut off shit like this ship raid they would be able to peacefully coexist.
so i'm confused, is the turkish navy escorting them?

[editline]01:07AM[/editline] Would love to see you find proof to back up your statements, find an article or something for me 'cuz right now I find that hard to believe.
Watch CNN. There was a report earlier showing all the stuff from the ship just sitting at the dock. The medicine expired, there was wheelchairs, hospital beds, paper, pencils. All just sitting there in piles on the ground. It's obvious little to none of that stuff actually got to Gaza. UPDATE: AP reporting that Israel says they have not intercepted or taken over the ship.
Do they hate Palestinians that bad? Do they realize if they let aid in and treat Palestinians like people, then co-exist peacefully side-by-side, Hamas has absolutely no ammunition and have the media attack them instead?
The problem is that Israel fears what the outcome may be if they actually did let them have their way. Hell I don't even know, everything is complicated in that region.
so i'm confused, is the turkish navy escorting them?
That's the next ship(s) I believe.
If you can't find proof your argument is invalid.
If you don't know about the aid limits set by your own country, I'm not sure you're qualified to be in this argument.
so the ship there now is part of the original flotilla, but it was delayed due to troubles?
I know about the aid limits, but as far as I know the entire contents of the last flotilla was delivered to Gaza, except for a few medicine who their date has expired.
I can guarantee you that if Israel would stop illegally passing it's borders, blocking humanitarian aid, and cut off shit like this ship raid they would be able to peacefully coexist.
They're not blocking aid. Aid is brought into the Gaza as long as the shipments arrive at certain ports so they can be checked.
so the ship there now is part of the original flotilla, but it was delayed due to troubles?
Yeah, it was supposed to go with the Freedom Flotilla.
Let me clarify what I meant. The US support for Israel is from the holocaust. Why else would we continue to support them?
No, it's because the Israel was the first democracy in the area. One of the reasons was, as you said, because of the Holocaust, but its a reason in the background now.
so the ship there now is part of the original flotilla, but it was delayed due to troubles?
It was supposed to be, it delayed, and now it's trying to do what the other boats couldn't.
They're not blocking aid. Aid is brought into the Gaza as long as the shipments arrive at certain ports so they can be checked.
Where they're blocked.
I know about the aid limits, but as far as I know the entire contents of the last flotilla was delivered to Gaza, except for a few medicine who their date has expired.
Yes, they're delivering these shipments. That's because the entire world is watching very closely. I'm referring to the countless other aid ships that didn't cause an international stir over the years.
Yes, they're delivering these shipments. That's because the entire world is watching very closely. I'm referring to the countless other aid ships that didn't cause an international stir over the years.
There are reasons why things are blocked, you know.
There are reasons why things are blocked, you know.
Is there a valid reason to block 75% of the aid shipments that came in since 2007?
Is there a valid reason to block 75% of the aid shipments that came in since 2007?
Depending on the type of aid, yes.
There are reasons why things are blocked, you know.
Yes, they're blocked to make sure Hamas has absolutely nothing to work with. Unfortunately, you've drawn the line incredibly far from a reasonable point. When you destroy a school with an airstrike, but never let in any cement, your intentions are suspect.
Cement is let in, but only when requested by humanitarian aid groups.
Depending on the type of aid, yes.
Food?
Food?
Food is allowed in.
Cement is let in, but only when requested by humanitarian aid groups.
Buildings aren't just made from cement, they require various other supplies in order to do so. Like steel for example, which isn't let in under any circumstances.
Buildings aren't just made from cement, they require various other supplies in order to do so. Like steel for example, which isn't let in under any circumstances.
Metal is. All construction supplies are allowed in if humanitarian aid groups are the ones asking for them.
Cement is let in, but only when requested by humanitarian aid groups.
The point is that Israel isn't letting in enough aid to make a difference. Less than half of the people in Gaza are meeting basic nutritional needs, yet the maximum amount of food that Israel allows is still sent.

What kind of a blockade would it be if Israel had just allowed everything in?
Are you seriously arguing that the food limits are reasonable?
Are you seriously arguing that the food limits are reasonable?
Yes, for example fresh meat isn't allowed, since it would go bad on the way to Gaza. Frozen meat is allowed however.
Let's clarify this and bring it to an understanding. BurnEmDown, do you think the list of what is let into Gaza should be completely reformed to allow more of the aid delivered to actually be let in? Also, do you think concrete should be allowed in as a controlled substance?
