I'm assuming we would be helping them rebuild it had we been occupying them, but since we're not, and an enemy is, it's going to be kind of hard.

It seems that the IDF has decided that it has waited long enough - they will board the ship, and they hope that the people on board won't be violent, which they probably won't.

Because the US wants a stable ally in the middle east hence why they sold a load of planes and weapons to them at one stage.
