My question is, what the fuck is Lando then? A black hero in such a huge film that isn't playing to stereotypes was a huge thing in the early 80s. Is HE racist because we worked/hung out with white people in the Rebellion agaist a villian that wore black? She is attempting to manufacture a Race Issue/Controversy where none exists.
They say this shit for money and attention. I'm pretty sure they don't actually believe this shit
If anything the woman is racist for automatically associating the color black and its connotations with black people.
Its her shtick.
I really doubt that black-and-white duality is a product of solely the west, or that it has anything to do with racism at all. Race-based African slavery wasn't even a thing until fairly recently in history, and black-and-white dualism has been a thing for a very very long time. It has more to do with the daytime and the nighttime - daytime is safer and more secure than the night, the night is scary, people stereo typically go about bad business during the night, etc. The racial aspect is sometimes part of it and it should be called out when it is, but it's clearly not in this. Black v. White or Light v. Dark has been a trope in literature and film and religion and everything since the dawn of human civilization. Tying darkness to unsavory actions and brightness to good ones is tied to day/night cycles, not a singular type of fairly modern racism. [editline]14th December 2015[/editline] Why does Facepunch always have some idiot crawl out of the woodwork and start talking in a stereotypically black way every single fucking time someone says the word "black?" This post has literally nothing to do with anything in the OP or anything that's been discussed, you just wanted to go "Haha black people talk funny!!"
Actually it makes fun the msnbc host, (too much jive to get the point across for you), in that the type of identity which the person latches onto, one can say something in an entirely different direction. This points out the ambiguity in these types of arguments, but not everyone on the internet life yourself can past seeing a mimicked lingo and coming to a conclusion it's racist.
Its her shtick.
So she's a token person with a subset of inflammatory statements to bolster ratings while capturing a small demographic which is so ludicrous it can be an act. Such an act her comment about vadar parallels the chasing amy segment to a point of plagiarism.
She is as far left as Glenn Beck is right. Someone that drank way too much of the koolaid. If she heard that she'd complain because black people stereotypically drink koolaid.

"but not everyone on the internet life yourself can past seeing a mimicked lingo?" Really? ...What?
She could work for the onion tbh
i feel like placing my face on the floor and dragging it across the ground to deal with the amount of cringe i am feeling right now.
Deja Vu anyone? (Skip to 5:10, I can't get the fu*%ing links for a specific time to work.)
I wouldn't say darth vader is racist cause his outfit is black, that's just silly. although it does make me question the origins of the west associating white with good and black with evil, i'm sure there's some shady racism behind that but it's just apart of our culture now whether it was originally a race thing or not

In Western culture, white and black traditionally symbolize the dichotomy of good and evil, metaphorically related to light and darkness and day and night.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-and-white_dualism Light/darkness is a far more logical connection to be making here anyways. Fear of the dark is a thing for a legitimate reason. Assuming a black outfit for an evil character is a matter of racism says a lot more about the person crying racism than the person designing the outfit.
Why are people like this even allowed air time? [editline]15th December 2015[/editline] and by that i can't decide whether i meant air time on tv or actually time in they're life to actually draw breath.
Wrong. In the entire series they didn't shot anyone, they intentionally miss. They are saints.
They shot the fuck out of the rebels in the very first scene of A New Hope.
It's obvious that she is reading into this way to much but even if she wasn't, wouldn't the movie be anti-racist? I mean Vader is in his suit until the end of the trilogy and then you find out he's white, basically proving that white people can do terrible things. And then there is Lando who is a badass good guy. She's not only reading into something too much but she is actively picking stuff to fit her agenda of everything is racist.
They shot the fuck out of the rebels in the very first scene of A New Hope.
If you look carefully storm troopers first fired a few warning shots, then the rebel scum killed one of theirs. They had no choice, but to defend themselves. Also I want to point out how the rebels wore black jackets.
Its her shtick.
Holy shit this woman is a literal attention whore. Even iJustine couldn't steep this low.

Dark Lord of the Sith -> Badass White Lord of the Sith -> Slave Owner/KKK member
I guess Emos and Goths are racist too for appropriating african-american culture or some shit then, too.

She forgot that part where evil Darth Vader's helmet is off and he's white. [t]http://i.imgur.com/KA4glsX.jpg[/t]
Because MSNBC is dying, so they gotta get that click money. That and the people they employ aren't the brightest.
They're desperately trying to cash in on any outrage. All they do 24/7 is bitch about Trump and are probably going to crash extremely hard after they lose steam from that.
If you wanna talk racism in Star Wars look at the fucking prequels jesus. [t]http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081222024729/starwars/images/e/eb/WattoHS.jpg[/t] Considering the rebels fight an army of white "Stormtroopers" in the original trilogy you're gonna have trouble making that point.
In a perfect world the news would condemn and aid in the dispelling of ignorance not give it a time slot and a microphone.

niger means 'shimmering black' and that's the word they used for Africans, and the word for black as a fearful concept was ater (which is where we get the word atrocious from). every culture in history has associated blackness with fear, it's just we've got one word to express both ideas
i guess she doesnt know that black has been associated with evil and badness for like ever
And bad-asses.

Holy shit, there is literally a tumblrina social justice warrior at a major news network on national fucking television. I wonder if this lady wakes up every day and tries to tally up how unprivileged she is compared to white people. These fucking people exacerbate everything wrong with society.
Oh god it's her. She's a fruitloop, I don't know how she manages to earn a living in society, I don't even know how she manages to get out of her bed in the morning. She once said that she associated the term 'hard-working' with cotton plantation slaves.
