We're getting this over in Canada too. I think some of it is due to having 90% of our population jump over the US border to get deals on stuff instead of shopping here. I mean, our Thanksgiving is a month earlier than the US so I don't think it matters a whole lot. This weekend is a regular weekend in Canada so it's not like there would be a lot of shopping here compared to the US.

You don't need Black Friday to start a fight in a West Belfast Shopping Centre.
