It's more of a coincidence that it has a relation to Thanksgiving. This year being my first Black Friday, I found it to be very enjoyable. Went to a few retail stores and a couple malls and people wernt rabid animals. Either the media blows this shit up or I got super lucky.

My coworkers and I discussed what would happen if the whole store was rearranged just before opening :v:

Yesterday at GAME was pretty orderly. Considering we had the PS4 launch, Black Friday and pay day all on one day to deal with. Worst we got was just people having a go at us cause they couldn't buy a PS4 (Even though you had 10 or so months to preorder one).

to be honest I have no idea why black friday wasn't already a thing, it has nothing to do with thanksgiving other than the fact that it's traditionally the day after all black friday is is the day that retail companies aim to break even on, hence the "black" part of the name (i.e. moving from the red to the black) I mean have fun with it I guess it wasn't that bad at best buy
