Way to completely ignore his question and provide no support to your side. Typical hipster. You just say "ra ra peace" and "save the ecosystem" just to make you feel good about yourself. What is peace? How do we save the ecosystem. All you do is chant keyphrases
Hipster? No, thats silly, hipster is too mainstream, it literally contradicts itself, and I'd rather kill myself than let myself become one of those pathetic excuses for a human being We could actually do something by stop being dildos and actually find a better means of energy for ourselves, or making cleaner and more effective factories, etc, but too many people either don't give a shit or don't think anything can be done. I'd say we are making progress in some things, we really are, just not enough. And whoever says peaceful protest will fix it is a pussy, no one will listen, I think actually forcing big companies to do something is the only way at this point, even if it means marching up into BP and kicking them out. Hell, even if it takes burning people out of BP, or anywhere else, it's better than acting like pussies and preaching words.
Trust me hipster fpers
I'm leaving FP if I see any real hipsters here I'm not kidding [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] stop scaring me please
Good one, what about uncharted waters?
no thanks i'm not gonna trust you, i'm gonna trust climate scientists.
by climate scientists, you mean Al Gore? or you could trust 17,000 true scientists who actually know their shit.
by climate scientists, you mean Al Gore? or you could trust 17,000 true scientists who actually know their shit.
its not the climate I have the issue with, its that we're running out of gas and need something to be used as a secondary oh, and its also the resources being raped
by climate scientists, you mean Al Gore? or you could trust 17,000 true scientists who actually know their shit.
What field of science did those 17,000 scientists study?
I really want to experience the Great Barrier Reef. That's high up on my list.
Good one, what about uncharted waters?
Does it matter? The largest lifeform in the world is going to be wiped out, what relevance does a potential to find other sea life have? [editline]15th September 2011[/editline]
Pretty sure the coral reefs are adapting to the temperature.
Pretty sure the huge dead grey part of the Great Barrier Reef disagrees with your unfounded analysis.
Good one, what about uncharted waters?
What about em'?
I say we saw off Florida and push it under the water. New reef formed.
that would be like castrating america I approve
by climate scientists, you mean Al Gore?
yeah i meant al gore because obviously al gore is THE climate scientist
by climate scientists, you mean Al Gore? or you could trust 17,000 true scientists who actually know their shit.
Show me the petition and the credentials of those who signed it.

Theres probably hundreds of coral reefs we haven't found yet.
I meant how would we know? Theres probably hundreds of coral reefs we haven't found yet.
when some of the largest and most important ones we DO know of are starting to die i don't think we should just rely on "well there MIGHT be more!"
by climate scientists, you mean Al Gore? or you could trust 17,000 true scientists who actually know their shit.
If you want to talk numbers and fancy shit then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change Don't say shit about wikipedia btw, it's all sourced externally.
97–98% of the most published climate researchers think humans are causing global warming.[105] Another study found just under 90% of active scientists think significant man made global warming is occurring. Of those who didn't, most were unsure.[106]
I don't like how wiki says Global Warming though. Climate Change is the term.
Trust me hipster fpers, we couldndo shit to change this world unless we managed to somehow reverse a natural trend on our earths history. The earth even has gone through mini iceages for christ sake.
You're implying that thinking Global Warming is man-made, somehow makes you alternative? :|
I don't understand why people don't like the term global warming and prefer climate change.
Because some people think the continued existence of winter proves the global warming theory wrong. Climate change is just easier for stupid people to understand. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline]
More than 17,000 scientists have signed a petition circulated by the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine saying, in part, “there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’ s climate. Trust me hipster fpers, we couldndo shit to change this world unless we managed to somehow reverse a natural trend on our earths history. The earth even has gone through mini iceages for christ sake.
Well aren't you the most adorable denier ever.
People except shit to happen without exploiting Earth's resources? You see, the hippie approach would only lead to extinction eventually. Assuming the hippies had no intentions of building spacecrafts.. like big spacecrafts, much bigger than what we have now.
Not the Molluscs!
Not the clownfish :'(
I meant how would we know? Theres probably hundreds of coral reefs we haven't found yet.
I'm talking mostly out of my ass here so correct me if I'm wrong, but coral reefs of that size generally grow in shallower parts of the ocean, a lot of which has been charted, at least by locals. The deeper trenches and open ocean are where you're more likely to find new species but that doesn't seem like hospitable environments for reefs.
that would be like castrating america I approve
It would be more like excising a tumor. Just carve off the entirety of the southern border states and let the cartels have Texas. Then bomb Texas until it's a molten parking lot.
If we (humanity) actually cared about the environment we would have taken action a long time ago. The fact it takes considerable effort to even do basic environmentally-friendly tasks is so pathetic. It's pretty safe to say that the reefs are not the only ecosystem that will be destroyed. As a speices we simply don't give a shit. (which is retarded because we depend on ecosystems to survive. We seem to have this attitude that we can destroy shit and somehow remain totally unaffected)
Whilst this may not be our fault entirely, We do need to realise what we are causing.
Fishermen around the globe would loose their livelihoods, among the many others that depend on the reefs for survival.
I would have more sympathy if overfishing wasn't a problem.
Well, you don't need to just cruise around the reefs in order to catch fish.
Well, you don't need to just cruise around the reefs in order to catch fish.
I'm can't tell if you're serious or not. Reefs are home to thousands of some of the rarest fish on the planet. They're the rainforests of the ocean.
