Sure, lets send in seal team 6 to combat our economic troubles.
You know I'm pretty sure people are considering with wallstreet. With OWS and before.
More foreign entanglements...
Because the current government is absolutely terrible.
And? It may stay that way, but we'll get rid of the resistance. Even if they are essentially the same, that's less kids being kidnapped in the night. So long as there's no opposition, things may be oppressive, but they'll be stable.
The people who are in need of help aren't the government, they're the poor and voiceless who are subject to abuse by both sides.
The only other solution is going in and restructuring the government, and I can guarantee that wouldn't go over well with the rest of the Western World (especially with the Imperialist undertones.)
The people who are in need of help aren't the government, they're the poor and voiceless who are subject to abuse by both sides.
Less people dying if nobody's trading RPGs. Trust me, this WILL help in some way. How much remains to be seen.

So long as there's no opposition, things may be oppressive, but they'll be stable.
And after that, what happens when the people decide that maybe they want something better? Now you have the same oppressive government, but with highly trained security forces who are experienced in crushing rebellion.
I don't think you understand just how miniscule this aid is in terms of the total Defense Budget.
It's the principal of the thing, not just this conflict, or whatever the fuck this will become.
It's the principal of the thing, not just this conflict, or whatever the fuck this will become.
So the principle is that a couple million dollars is worth more then 1-5 thousand Africans?
So the principle is that a couple million dollars is worth more then 1-5 thousand Africans?
The principal is that we're getting into too much shit. We would be more effective here if we weren't in the middle east "killin' Moslems" and draining our GDP.
And after that, what happens when the people decide that maybe they want something better? Now you have the same oppressive government, but with highly trained security forces who are experienced in crushing rebellion.
And the alternative is twiddling our thumbs, waiting for that rebellion to come while untold hundreds/thousands are butchered and raped on a daily basis.
I was hoping they were going to sort out the human rights abusing government, I was rather disappointed.
The principal is that we're getting into too much shit. We would be more effective here if we weren't in the middle east "killin' Moslems" and draining our GDP.
Except this isn't the Middle East, they aren't Muslims and this isn't a drain on our GDP.
I just don't get how people are offended when a country is trying to help another country.
And after that, what happens when the people decide that maybe they want something better? Now you have the same oppressive government, but with highly trained security forces who are experienced in crushing rebellion.
No other option, I'm afraid. And, besides, things might go well.
The only other solution is going in and restructuring the government, and I can guarantee that wouldn't go over well with the rest of the Western World (especially with the Imperialist undertones.)
Of all the places, it's probably one of the more justified.
The presidential elections were held in February 2006. Museveni ran against several candidates, of whom the most prominent was the exiled Dr. Kizza Besigye. Museveni was declared the winner. Besigye alleged fraud, and rejected the result. The Supreme Court of Uganda ruled that the election was marred by intimidation, violence, voter disenfranchisement, and other irregularities. However, the Court voted 4-3 to uphold the results of the election.
[editline]15th October 2011[/editline]
And the alternative is twiddling our thumbs, waiting for that rebellion to come while untold hundreds/thousands are butchered and raped on a daily basis.
You mean by the government or..? 100 advisors is quite a few considering the group has a few thousand soldiers at most, in a country of 30 million people. [editline]15th October 2011[/editline]
And, besides, things might go well.
Okay, well, I'm calling it now. Training soldiers of the Uganda government to be better soldiers will end badly.
Of all the places, it's probably one of the more justified.
Last time we went into an African nation to restructure it's government we were treated to evening news footage of them dragging the mutilated bodies of our soldiers through the streets as they cheered. The US public simply isn't ready for a serious militaristic humanitarian action.

Now is the time for people to open their eyes.
Of all the places, it's probably one of the more justified.
Do you really think people will care about that? Look, hating everything America does is the hip new thing, no matter how little sense it makes.
You mean by the government or..? 100 advisors is quite a few considering the group has a few thousand soldiers at most, in a country of 30 million people.
I do believe he's referring to the innocents being captured by the resistance and brutally killed.
Okay, well, I'm calling it now. Training soldiers of the Uganda government to be better soldiers will end badly.
Maybe. But it's all we can do to help end the conflict.
Last time we went into an African nation to restructure it's government we were treated to evening news footage of them dragging the mutilated bodies of our soldiers through the streets as they cheered. The US public simply isn't ready for a serious militaristic humanitarian action.
That is true. What I find most concerning is I have absolutely no idea why this is happening now. It's not like Uganda used to be very peaceful, and if anything, the insurgency is on a lull.
Uganda isn't as bad as Somalia to be honest.
Yeah, but Somalia, Chad and Sudan are probably the worst countries to go to. At least Uganda has got some chance to recuperate where as those countries need pretty much a restart from scratch.
I can't tell if faze is overly patriotic, dumb or just plain racist.
That is true. What I find most concerning is I have absolutely no idea why this is happening now. It's not like Uganda used to be very peaceful, and if anything, the insurgency is on a lull.
Obama does have a lot of things on his plate. Maybe he's just micromanaging.
wasteing more money
I can't tell if faze is overly patriotic, dumb or just plain racist.
How the fuck do you discern racism from what I said? Patriotic? Fuck no. I hate America.
How the fuck do you discern racism from what I said? Patriotic? Fuck no. I hate America.
That kind of mindset is just as bad as blindly loving the US.
How the fuck do you discern racism from what I said? Patriotic? Fuck no. I hate America.

Look, hating everything America does is the hip new thing, no matter how little sense it makes.
Way to prove my point.
That kind of mindset is just as bad as blindly loving the US.
I hate this country for a reason, not blindly.
I hate this country for a reason, not blindly.
And your reason is they help too many people?
How the fuck do you discern racism from what I said? Patriotic? Fuck no. I hate America.
You would hate America. You care about noone but yourself. Simple. :>
