You would hate America. You care about noone but yourself.
Simple. :>
How are you discerning selfishness from wanting to fix America's problems?
And your reason is they help too many people?
No. You obviously haven't read anything I have said, about how I blatantly say that we're wasting money on war when things can be solved diplomatically.
Seriously??!! Iran, China, North Korea, now we're getting into Africa?! When will this country stop trying to police the whole world? We have our own problems to deal with!
Because focusing on yourself and complaining when they want to help equals diplomacy.
No. You obviously haven't read anything I have said, about how I blatantly say that we're wasting money on war when things can be solved diplomatically.
How exactly would this be solved diplomatically? If we threatened sanctions that would do nothing but lead to more suffering on the Ugandan people.
How exactly would this be solved diplomatically? Instead, everyone has to wave their cock around.

Because you complain about menial things when a country almost on the brink of destruction needs help.
No. You obviously haven't read anything I have said, about how I blatantly say that we're wasting money on war when things can be solved diplomatically.
Oh lord.
I'm all ears on this one, faze. Or any, and I mean literally any situation like this that has ever been solved diplomatically.
Holy shit, that's twice as many troops as there are people in the nation of Pitcairn.
Not this specifically, but China, North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, etc. could have all been solved long ago, diplomatically. Instead, everyone has to wave their cock around.
We aren't at war with China, North Korea, Iran, or the government of Afghanistan. We are a part of the first generation of world powers that maintains diplomatic relations with every sovereign nation on the planet. We, as a nation, spearheaded the UN and were the leading minds behind the League of Nations (although we didn't join due to Isolationism), the first organizations in the history of diplomacy that sought to bring all major powers together to permanently prevent major war.
Our diplomacy has been extraordinarily successful, even with the current wars we are involved in. It doesn't always work. That's why we have a military.
You're so quick to knock the US on historical terms and seem to know nothing about it, much less historical context.
Holy shit, that's twice as many troops as there are people in the nation of Pitcairn.
Do they molest their children too?

Nuclear weapons called, they told us to stop taking credit.
Instead, we had 50 years of proxy wars funded and operated by the major powers and then an explosion of ethnic and nationalist violence
[editline]15th October 2011[/editline]
That being said, mutual respect for sovereignty does engender peace, at least until significant issues arise.
It's none of our business. We really need to pull out of all our wars and conflicts and focus on our own problems.
Nuclear weapons called, they told us to stop taking credit.
There's no doubt Nuclear weapons had a huge impact on the lack of a war. I'd say they were the real reason, actually.
My point was actually to say that this sort of thing had never even been tried in the past, at least not on the world stage. Diplomatic efforts have never had this much attention and devotion in history.
It's none of our business. We really need to pull out of all our wars and conflicts and focus on our own problems.
Whilst I'm all for focusing on your own problems, I think you'll need to multitask here. It seems cruel to abruptly pull out after offering help.
It's none of our business. We really need to pull out of all our wars and conflicts and focus on our own problems.
Exactly what I was getting at.

Why are you heartless?
The problems that are occurring in the world are a LOT worse than financial crisis, now I'm not exaggerating with that.
Would you feel good if the problems in Africa escalated to the point where the entire continent was a red zone?
Or are you happy because you are nice and safe and well away from all that?
When was the last time America sent "advisors" into another country?
God I would NOT want to be one of those 100 troops being deployed right now.

They're most likely volunteers with training/experience in training others.

He's a republican, he'd rather the US become a giant Red zone :v:

God damn, reading through some of the posts, its like massive consipracy theroies.
Weren't you guys saying the same thing about Libya and yet we have no role still beyond coordination and even then its minimal at this point?
He did exactly as he stated he would do and you guys toss that aside.

Uh... how?
How the fuck do you discern racism from what I said? Patriotic? Fuck no. I hate America.
If you don't like the color of your flag, go find a new set, I'm sure you and shiftyze can share an apartment in china together.

Because you can't improve something, right?
everyone that disagrees has to leave
If you don't like the color of your flag, go find a new set, I'm sure you and shiftyze can share an apartment in china together.
My work is here in America, so is my family. Dropping everything and leaving the country isn't that easy.

I'd much rather see our problems fixed first. We're not in the position to help others when we're practically drowning in billions of dollars of debt. Once our current situation is resolved, then perhaps we can lend help.

There's a time and a place when we should devote our... abilities to help Africa. But given how shit things are getting here, and how already spread out our military is with other countries, I don't thing it's the best move right now. This is a pretty ballsy move.

Trillions*
The cost is about 30 million over 3 years.

Why is everyone treating this like a full force invasion? We are sending 100 military advisers. That's literally next to nothing.
So how about we stop exaggerating and acknowledge that sending a few military advisers to help Uganda protect its children from being kidnapped and forced to kill their families.

I'm just saying it's a ballsy move sending troops to Uganda. What if things don't go as planned? What if it escalates?
I'm just saying it's a ballsy move sending troops to Uganda. What if things don't go as planned? What if it escalates?
They aren't going to go in and start blowing shit up. This is a problem that's been plaguing Uganda and neighboring country for years. The longer Joseph Kony is out there, the longer the people in Uganda live in fear. The children have to march at night to find places to hide in order to keep from being kidnapped. The situation there is shit, it's been shit, and it will continue to be shit. Sending in military advisers to attempt to aid the government in their attempts to put a stop to the massacres caused by hardened children is only going to help, because frankly it simply can't get worse.
