Does "cherry picking" Trump's statement about grabbing women by the pussy without mentioning he played it off as "locker room talk" when he got called out on it strike the same nerve? His explanation does nothing to defuse the statement.
You're missing my point. I'm just getting tired of the negativity and pessimism being sprayed around on these threads. It honestly feels like at this point you guys would make a negative spin on a story about him saving puppies from a canal before you even dared say something that isn't vehemently negative about his campaign.
I didn't say be optimistic, I said stop screaming bloody murder in every damn thread about it. Believe me, I'm beyond concerned about what he's going to do, there is a reason I didn't vote for the bastard. But he hasn't even planted his ass in the chair yet dude.
...But he's going to? Why should someone wait until he does what we already know and he's already said that he will do before they complain about it? If someone is pointing a gun at you, are you not going to plead with them not to pull the trigger until they have already pulled the trigger?
Oh no he said something sexist in a private conversation more than a decade ago.
And here we fucking go again.
And here we fucking go again.
Wow you sure refuted my post (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Big Dumb American))

I mean, his vague backpedaling on some things may be somewhat good I guess

It honestly feels like at this point you guys would make a negative spin on a story about him saving puppies from a canal before you even dared say something that isn't vehemently negative about his campaign.
I'm not "putting a negative spin" on an otherwise good story about a misunderstood man, I'm responding with justified outrage to a series of articles and statements regarding the president's war against scientific inquiry and the field of education as a whole. He is very deliberately dumbing down America. I think that negativity and outrage in the face of that threat is rational and justified. I hope that I'll be wrong, but I'm not exactly going to ignore fair warning and just assume he won't follow through.

It honestly feels like at this point you guys would make a negative spin on a story about him saving puppies from a canal before you even dared say something that isn't vehemently negative about his campaign.
except for that time where he donated supplies to a bunch of starving flood victims and literally everyone said "yeah that's cool," including BDA
Ten 7,000 lb marble statues of the man himself. Enjoy! [editline]21st August 2016[/editline] Regardless of his motivations, it's much needed aid. I'm sure the recipients appreciate it. It doesn't change my opinion of what kind of man Donald Trump is in the slightest, however.
you'll notice that i actually brought up an example of Trump doing a positive thing instead of relying on a hyperbolic scenario like him saving drowning puppies, because one need not be ignorant to consider him the scum of the earth nonetheless
I didn't say be optimistic, I said stop screaming bloody murder in every damn thread about it. Believe me, I'm beyond concerned about what he's going to do, there is a reason I didn't vote for the bastard. But he hasn't even planted his ass in the chair yet dude.
Responding to terrible policies with my explanation of why I believe they are terrible policies is perfectly acceptable. You may think I'm overreacting, and that's a fair criticism. I well could be, and I hope I am. But when it's revealed the Trump wants to essentially end an entire field of scientific research because he thinks it's a liberal hoax, I'm going to voice my disgust about that. I can do that. Anybody can do that.
Oh no he said something sexist in a private conversation more than a decade ago.
How does bragging about molesting women count as only saying something sexist?
Oh no he said something sexist in a private conversation more than a decade ago.
I'll take "Deliberately Missing the Point" for 500, Alex. If you've something to add to the conversation, perhaps actually say it rather than making shallow quips and disappearing?
God forbid anyone actually do anything about the environment. According to a lot of these people, Revelation will be occurring soon anyways, so we can just make the world our trash can until Jesus comes back.
Wow you sure refuted my post
I wasn't trying to. Nor I want to. If you don't understand what exactly is wrong with what he said, you are not a person I want to have a discussion with.
I'm not "putting a negative spin" on an otherwise good story about a misunderstood man, I'm responding with justified outrage to a series of articles and statements regarding the president's war against scientific inquiry and the field of education as a whole. Are you guys who voted for this tangerine tosser aware of this?
They're trying to perpetuate the "no satellite data" myth by actually getting rid of the satellites. Always thought something like this would happen. "Ending politicized science" my ass, the whole thing is politicized because swine like Inhofe, Trump, and their ilk are constantly attempting to shift the results towards their "no anthropogenic" narrative. But hey! They've been doing the same to the EPA for nearly twenty years, might as well kill two birds with one stone. And everything else.
Scrap it and put $20bn into pure space exploration
Why are you comparing a gun to the presidency
Because an administration full of climate change deniers is literally going to kill a lot of people???
Scrap it and put $20bn into pure space exploration
Space exploration is an excellent goal and definitely deserves funding increases, but we have a much more immediate threat in climate change. Our situation is growing more desperate by the year, and space exploration simply won't yield a solution to that in our lifetime.
"turmps not bad the things all the bad things he says he plans to do aren't actually his stances!!"
The Vice President believes in genesis and that the Earth is 6000 years old, while also being a rampant homophobe and idiot in general, and the secretary of education is a flat earther. Forget the secular vision of the founding fathers, brainwashing and Christian extremism ahoy. Also "solid science" not "politically correct science" lmfao, more like "research" funded by the oil and coal giants. Oh, and evolution and all that other bullshit? Nah, too PC for me boi, I hope you Trump supporters are real proud of yourselves
Trump attacks scientific research because he doesn't know the difference between "politically correct" and "literally correct."
holy shit just kill me now
Hasn't nasa being doing this type of research since the 50's? you know before climate research was popularized.
holy shit just kill me now
Don't worry, the earth will be killing all of us soon
What is “politically correct environmental monitoring”
Any environmental monitoring that doesn't agree with Trump's skewed outlook in the world.
Trump attacks scientific research because he doesn't know the difference between "politically correct" and "literally correct."
This is by far in the top 5 best zingers I've read on facepunch
Well, I retract this statement. Regardless: its going to take more than 4 years to clean this shit up after we're done.
I can't wait to spend the rest of my fucking life in the mess this one presidency will make.
...but, hey, although we're screwed from Climate Change, at least we sure showed Crooked Hillary that she deserves imprisoned for her emails, ri - oh wait, what's this? Can anyone enlighten me on how much of NASA's funding is made up of the Earth science division's funding?
