The owner of the domain should start accepting donations so he can get a good lawyer and overthrow activision I would sure as hell donate to such a cause
Apparently OP is an idiot and they just want rights to the domain, not the money as well.
I wonder how people would react if it was EA trying to take down a battlefield3.com, or Valve trying to take halflife3 down? It's a company filing a complaint about a site that is registered under their trademark, something that can affect sales. I don't see this as something Activision would do. Any company would take this prudent action.
EA, possibly. Valve, I dunno. I'd see Valve making a joke out of it before them suing someone for money over a joke.
Would they actually have the chance to win that or is the right completly on the side of the site owner?
Activision has a lot of money. That is all you need. They are guarented to win it.
I mean I think they have all the right to own the domain. But charging the person 2600USD is pushing it and just making IW seem like a complete bitch. It's not like the original owner stole it from them. IW is just a bunch of money whores IMO. They did nothing to fix mw2 at all over the past year and a half. I don't personally agree with IW's decisions nor do I support their ideas. But like always, I will buy their game anyways... [editline]20th July 2011[/editline] ^^^^^^^^^^^^ I meant Activision not IW sorry.
Fuck you Activision.
You know, they could've just used www.mw3.com or something.
Apparently OP is an idiot and they just want rights to the domain, not the money as well.
Can't really see how that makes me an idiot, I misinterpreted the article.. thats all.
Can't really see how that makes me an idiot, I misinterpreted the article.. thats all.
The fact that you posted the article without reading it does.
You see, 20 years ago, People would barter over something someone wanted, reach an agreement, and pay what was asked and agreed upon. But today, You demand what you want and take legal action to get it It's his domain, and he can pretty much redirect it where ever the fuck he wants, and if anyone doesn't like it, they can suck his cock because tough titty bags
Activision needs CAVE TROLLSON to be their CEO.
$2600? That's it? Activision wipes their ass with bills bigger than that.
They are probably showing that no one should question the supreme authority of their company.
I like how everyone is still ignoring the fact that the complaint paperwork cost money, all they're doing is getting the paperwork through to have the site classed as a squatter so they can take it.
Two words to all in this topic. steam.com
