RE6 is indisputably the lowest point for Resident Evil. That game is some hot, fucking, garbage.
Wouldn't bother with RE5 regardless of gfwl.
While I agree RE5 is a shitty RE game, it's still a fun coop game
RE6 on the other end....
I've heard the RE5 DLC is better than the main game. I want it.
I don't know about THAT but I can vouch for the first DLC, lost in nightmares. It seems to be the same concept that they used to build revelations. RE4-like gunplay and RE1-like atmosphere. There are puzzles and legitly scary moments in lost in nightmares. Plus the game gives you VERY few bullets to work with, so you really have to decide if its worth blowing your ammo on this one guy, when there could be an even scarier threat lurking around the corner (FUCK YOU WESKER!) The 2nd one (I forget what its called) shows what Josh and Jill were doing while Chris and Sheva were fucking up Wesker's tanker. It also explains how Josh and Jill pulled a helicopter out of their asses at the end of RE5.
Off the record remains the best game in the series in my opinion.
The sandbox mode is amazing.

I wish it wasn't still so fucking expensive
It's still 30$ not counting the pointless DLCs
Will RE5 be getting the DLC the PC version never got?
Thats RE6 you're thinking of.
RE5 was honestly worse. While RE6 just plain wasn't a Resident Evil game, more a third person Call of Duty with zombie mutants, it at least was fun to play. RE5 felt like they copied RE4 over to next gen, slapped on a half-assed companion and co-op system, changed the environment then completely forgot to play test it.

how is that not WORSE? it was also the antithesis to fun, to boot. like, anyone that enjoyed even one moment playing that game is a fucking mystery.

the combat is so ludicrously awful. and how can you call re5 broken?
at one point in RE6, i had entered a quick time event where i had to shoot a zombie to close a door.
except that i had no bullets. i could not complete the quicktime event. i just waited there, unable to shoot. after about 5 minutes of frustration, the game magically gave me some ammo. what the fuck?
I will never forget the moment when a just-decapitated zombie bit and killed me in a QTE. Honestly, the only two good parts of RE6 were Mercenaries and Jake's campaign, but they're hardly RE.
