actually, the british were the worst thing to happen to palestine.
they were the ones that took control over a large portion of the middle east after the ottomans fell, and then subsequently enacted mandates on the area without regard to greater historical context.
if they just left the fucking region alone instead of extending their support to zionism, the situation might have worked out better for all parties.
but i guess it isn't until now that we've realized that imperialistic meddling in the affairs of other nations is generally a bad idea.
