Also. The school will counter sue for the bomb threat their family made sometime ago, right?
I haven't heard about this. Source?

I'm sorry but if your clock looks like this and you expect nothing to come of it, then you especially have zero right to sue for defamation.
Wow, stop being so ignorant. Can't a kid named Ahmed Mohammed come to a school with a clock that looks exactly like a bomb? He's so brave, he deserves a statue.
Its funny you all make comments like "Oh hes so bad" and all that. But I bet you most of you would take full advantage (Asking for $15m) if you were put in this situation

No. Everyone is full of shit in this situation. I am sure he knew exactly what he was doing and thought it would be "funny" to make his clock like a bomb.
If I'd be in his shoes, I'd be happy that I haven't been expeled yet.

lmao the best part of this is that if he was white this wouldn't have blown up.
From victim to opportunist, if ever a victim.
He was never a victim. He was a prankster that exploited zero-tolerance for bomb jokes to look oppressed.

As opposed to the people who claimed everything that happened was a result of standard procedure, even though EOD wasn't called in among other things.
I forget, why did he even bring the suitcase clock to school for?
Because he was proud of it and wanted to show it on the school. Although it seems all he did was tear an alarm clock apart and just transferred everything over to the suitcase.

Because the dude actually got an actual physical injury over it, and it turned out the company that owned the cruise ship had apparently let countless of these incidents happen before. It was a clear safety hazard that had been in place for a long time before that.
But hey - that's not that much different from a kid bringing the innards of a clock to school turned worldwide famous, innit?

And no actual damages were done here? The kid was arrested and made the focus of an international smear campaign based solely on his race and religious background. Depending on who you ask, this Ahmed is either a national hero or a greedy lying no-good opportunist who purposefully masterminded a plan to become rich by building a clock that could be mistaken for a bomb.
Like, even if he had intentionally designed the clock to look like a bomb, it doesn't make the media reaction to him any less fuckin' disgusting. Fox News can't go one night without trying to argue he actually has terrorist ties and that this is all a big ploy, lol.
As others have said, if he had been white, this would have never been a story. He'd have had a talking to from the principal to clear it up, there may have been a local sidebar about it in the paper, and that would have been that. Because he was a Muslim, however, the media took this and blew it WAY out of proportion, completely uprooting his life.
I'm no lawyer, and I can't say one or another whether or not he actually has a solid case from a legal standpoint, but it's silly to argue that Ahmed and his family didn't get put through the wringer over this dumb shit.
The depressing thing is that if this kid was christian he'd probably be in the exact same place he was a year ago. You know I should become muslim and make a clock out of a pressure cooker and bring it to school, because that seems like a sure fire way for success.

He wasn't put in this situation by anyone except himself. He's a fucking troll.
Fox News can't go one night without trying to argue he actually has terrorist ties and that this is all a big ploy, lol.
Can you give an example? People in my family watch Fox and I've yet to hear anyone say that.
The kid repeatedly kept showing his device to teachers after multiple times being told it wasn't a good idea, plugged the case into a wall (sketchy as fuck), and then it went off in English class with a preset timer.
The only distress this kid and his family had was deciding which free college to send him.

One wrong doesn't justify another?
Aside: Seems like you're misrepresenting the case. Dozens of people getting injured by faulty censors.
And no actual damages were done here?
Not anything nearly equivalent to seizure causing brain damage like the cruise ship guy had no. Seriously do you even read past the headlines?
Nobody would care about a white kid playing a bomb prank and getting in trouble for it through zero-tolerance. You're correct, there is a double standard.
People are jumping into protect this guy because they want to appear progressive.
Reading the article it sounds like their attorneys are doing this.
I agree, but its probably easier to get angry at the kid (???) and his family for being no good scum that planned this from the beginning.
Wow. Way to flush down the toilet any and all possible reputation you've built.
And no actual damages were done here? The kid was arrested and made the focus of an international smear campaign based solely on his race and religious background.

Like, even if he had intentionally designed the clock to look like a bomb, it doesn't make the media reaction to him any less fuckin' disgusting.
What? The instant news got out of the dude being suspended for making a clock, the media was all over him calling him a genius kid who fell victim of racial profiling, a real human bean and a real hero, etc.
The only ~international smear campaign~ I've seen was people rightfully calling bullshit after they noticed he didn't make that clock at all, and that ripping a bunch of circuitry off a prebuilt clock and stuffing them into a box shouldn't grant you a visit at NASA and a dinner at the White House.
Now they want fifteen fucking million dollars for a story that's probably going to be forgotten within a month, and expect a freaking public highschool to shell out a third of that sum for thinking this thing looked a tad suspicious?
Yeah nah, they can fuck right off. Kid got to meet the Prez, got a tour of mother fucking NASA seriously I'd eat an orphanage to be in his place holy shit, and has a fun story to tell his future classmates about. His life hasn't been ruined by any means.
Depending on who you ask, this Ahmed is either a national hero or a greedy lying no-good opportunist who purposefully masterminded a plan to become rich by building a clock that could be mistaken for a bomb.
And who are you asking, Youtube commenters? Because most people in the real world seem to have stopped giving a shit about this entire ordeal. Really, at this point the only people trying to drag the case back into the spotlight seem to be the kid's parents themselves.
Fox News can't go one night without trying to argue he actually has terrorist ties and that this is all a big ploy, lol.
Fox News constantly tries to argue much more retarded shit. If a second-rate clown calls you an asshole, you're not suddenly entitled to millions of dollars.

south park was making fun of this (almost) exact situation in the 90's
I demand 15 million for the emotional stress this article caused me
$15 million to build a nuclear warhead. This kid must've planned this from the beginning.

By build your saying that he'll buy another one and take it apart and put it into a suitcase? because they already exist.
