Thanks for the info? What about my post led you to believe I didn't know that?

I could swear I though I saw a frame of three screenshots of 'health-indicating blood splatter' from CoD to which you replied about the blood looking nice in this game.
Guess I was wrong, time for me to sleep.
What is this obsession with the iron sight being held a meter from your eye. It should take up the entire screen.
Everyone who thinks it's a generic shooter needs to lay off and stow their comments until the game is actually released. FPSes have reached such an exceptionally high level of quality now that they all seem similar, you can't judge the book by its cover anymore. We'll see what they do with the story and gameplay.

Because real people aim like this, right?

Guns have recoil and recoil + scope right in front of your eye like a retard gets you a black eye. Also it allows the player to maintain peripheral vision.
Looks awesome.
Why don't people like the running? I thought it was good looking.

I think it makes it much more realistic, more 'being there' feel, much more intense than

which... makes no sense at all, same as it having only the cross hairs, that just has to go.
How do you know it's better? Looks like "guys running around in desert aiming down ironsights to shoot slightly darker-than-sand figures" to me.
Oh, and the second line doesn't even matter because I was referring to the SP campaign trailer.
Chances are, they were showcasing that level because it wasn't "boring" (to CoD players), the SP will most definitely feature large maps and vehicles. Also, the game doesn't just take place in the Middle East.
I'm guessing some SP levels, like the one showcased, will be close quarter combat like in BC2, and others will be large combat like BC1 or BF2:MC.
This looks good. I'll definitely keep an eye on this.
Looks really nice, I'd need an upgrade to max this out, though.
Looks a bit like Bad Company 2. I like that
From this gameplay video I can tell: The graphics are nice, the gameplay is very generic.
Reminds me of Bad Company (2). Me likey. But I do hope it's a combination of both BC and BF2.
True the game genre is somewhat generic, its how the game mechanics play out is what'll differ it from the others, like carrying people out of the field, jets, vehicles, medics, engies, 64 player combat, dynamic animations, gun mounting, etc...
And plenty more reasons why the game won't be just a generic shooter. Shooting people isn't the biggest play point of the game.

What makes it generic? It's modern warfare, sure, but what would you prefer? The United States Civil War? That wouldn't sell. It's doesn't just take place in the Middle East you know. Also, with 64 players and jets I'd say it's far from generic.

In real life, you never hold the sights directly in front of your eye. What do you think happens if the sights are directly in front of your eye and you fire and it recoils?

Sure the game is slightly different, but it doesn't seem like much of a step up from Battlefield 2. The only thing I find creative about it is the fact that there might be New York and Paris maps. But really, near future and present day settings have been used to death and I doubt even this can pull it off after how old, so goddamn old it got.

I don't mind modern, it's a nice change after the 8 years of WW2.
I can't wait for this game

Then what would you like to see? What do you expect from Battlefield 3?
Aliens? Superheros? Giant robots built by an evil genius?

Hi, most of those features are from BF1942/2/2142, why were they removed from BC1/2 and why should we by hyped for them now, exactly? :))

Every single possible setting for an FPS has been used to death. No matter what setting BF3 will be in, people will be complaining "That's been done to death!" The few settings that aren't done to death are the ones that are too damn boring to use.
Then what would you like to see? What do you expect from Battlefield 3?

No. I was expecting New York and Paris. I'm pretty sure those settings were announced. I don't want to step foot in a virtual middle eastern desert area ever again in my entire life. It's been done to death WAY more than WW2.
I WANT EITHER MP OR THE AREAS THAT AREN'T GENERIC!
What North Korea.
I will be buying a new computer. LGA 2011 and hopefully Kepler will come out by then.
Ingame footage recorded on a pc instead of a fucking console as they usually do. Looks promising so far.
I'm sure they announced it's a PC exclusive.
I'm sure they announced it's a PC exclusive.
It's coming out on the consoles too.
I'm sure they announced it's a PC exclusive.
As stated, it isn't a PC exclusive, but it is being developed for PC and then ported to consoles, which is just as good in my book.
I don't mind modern, it's a nice change after the 8 years of WW2.
Ultramodern is nearing 7 years old. I'd love to see even niche developers break the mold and do something other than U.S./The Righteous West versus Those Evil Guys.

I don't care if it might be doctored, its my new wallpaper.

Because it does all those things and looks this damn good. It shows everything it should have it has, and a bit more. It shows that its not consoloized/simplified. It shows love for us pc gamers.
