Oh man years ago when they were moving over to unreal I got contacted by David and he asked if I would submit some models for evaluation something to do with a customizable armour system he wanted to implement he sent me some pictures of the new character models and a nda to sign if I decided to join, I respectfully declined, a while later I heard something about keeping the money he got for the game and not paying artists and I thought phew dodged that bullet... now im thinking wow made the right choice.

I wonder what the explanation for saying pretty much the same thing on one of the Steam posts is then...
To any website reporting false claims with no verifiable proof or facts regarding David or Trek - this is not acceptable and won't be tolerated. You can not flat out lie about people. That is slander and defamation. We've seen two reports pop up from over 5 years ago. tt wasn't true then, still isn't now. To anyone spreading claims without proof, we will be seeking resolution once we're done addressing what we're going to do with Activision.
http://steamcommunity.com/app/104900/discussions/0/358415738204813471/
I've had this game for a long time but never played it. Might hop on later and check it out now to see what's going on.
http://steamcommunity.com/games/407840/announcements/detail/814405855450220211
So even now he still wont admit they fucked up. Remote development is no fucking excuse, if you're lazy and don't actually screen the content people are creating then that's your fault and the fault of the modeler. This guy is just incapable of owning up to his mistakes and even when he does it makes it seem like he did nothing wrong or just tries to explain it away. Long-winded post full of bullshit and deflecting statements. Not to mention them closing down their social media so now they're even more disconnected from public input. As if they even have a dedicated fanbase to begin with.
I beta tested for the Orion Source mod and I've sorta kept in touch with Prassel over the last couple years... but what in the fuck man what the fuck are you doing dude stop
$10 says they won't remove anymore of the incriminating content besides those gun models before reshipping it tomorrow, if that even happens.
As if they even have a dedicated fanbase to begin with.
Surprisingly, most steam comments are defending david, but then again most of them seem to be talking out of their ass and didn't actually inform themselves about the whole deal (people saying shit like "wtf copyirhgt on guns that are based on irl guns????'1'1'1').

Man I'm glad I own this. One dollar and I got two hours of gameplay and a funny-ass controversy.
I wish these guys wouldn't call themselves Trek Enterprises :frown: <----

fuck bought this game in the sale two days ago since it was dirt cheap
fuck bought this game in the sale two days ago since it was dirt cheap
The game that got taken down isn't Orion: Prelude, it's "The Orion Project"
Wait, was this originally Dino Beatdown? My best friend and I bought that shortly after it came out and went straight to sale for like $4. All I remember about it is wandering around aimlessly, everyone spamming the hell out of voice commands, and... what was that weird shit it said when you threw a grenade? And you could spam THAT too. The game was an utter mess and the devs were insane back then, but I never really followed their progress. This is hilarity embodied, just incredible.

I got it back when it was Dino Horde. It was weird while the game is pretty bad, it still manages to be fun if you play it with friends.
Oh gracious, this all reminds me of when I was in middle school and wanted to design a video game, which was basically some cringy sandbox game that took place in some town that was laid out almost 1:1 to one of the towns from The Sims 3. And now it's making me think, would using a map design that's similar to one in a preexisting game have the same backlash as this? Maybe it would appeal to people who want to speed around and shoot Sims, I dunno. But damn, that David dude is sketchy as shit.
TB made a pretty good roundup of the shitshow: [editline]30th June 2016[/editline] The fact that they re-branded their game twice already should bring up major red flags.

so, the question is how much of that content in 'ORION' which sells for 1 USD is actually 'borrowed' too ... some sights of weapons feels very familiar

Beatdown was embarrassingly broken and awful - they "upgraded" it and rebranded it to Dino Horde, which was playable and pretty decent considering the price, and then to Orion: Prelude, which I've never played but still has decent reviews and apparently plays much better. The game in question is Orion Project, which was a separate one that started as a top-down action TPS, morphed into an FPS over time through free content updates. Stealing assets is incredibly scummy, but the devs have brought a lot of free content updates to their games over time, even though they're usually $0.50-5 in price at most. That's commendable - even if I'm real disappointed with Prassel's apparent meltdown.
Wasn't that Prassel guy notorious even before the Orion games? Pretty sure back when he was just a modder he was still famous for screwing people over.
Yes, Prassel was revealed to be an ass all the way back in 2011, maybe further but I remember this thread from years ago. https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1068882 I'm amazed that this shit is still going.
