....all mac users I know are epic douches.
There's epic douches across all platforms.
Only guy I know who likes Apple computers and isn't a douche is a hardcore UNIX guru who's too old to bother tinker with settings and wants something that "just works". Though he agree on that they're overpriced for most people and the userbase is growing with idiots who wants to be trendy.
I understand that they're expensive, and as a Mac user it's annoying as fuck, I ended up buying Windows 7 just because they keep rolling out shit that my bank account can't handle :v: They should seriously drop the price IMO
They should seriously drop the price IMO
But then they won't be exclusive :downs: (Imitating generic Mac fanboy who also happens to be a douche)
Chill it with the OS hatin'
That really doesn't give you the right to compromise the OS just because you use a different one.
:v: If you're gonna rape FreeBSD, at least give the OS out for free :colbert: [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline]
There's epic douches across all platforms.
This is true :v: I really don't give a shit about the OS, I give a shit about the hypocritical advertising that each OS puts out.
That really doesn't give you the right to compromise the OS just because you use a different one.
already said, most mac users are idiots got one in my class... I've got no problem with mac/apple what so ever but the users are making the hate <.<
:v: If you're gonna rape FreeBSD, at least give the OS out for free :colbert:
It isn't "based" on FreeBSD - FreeBSD code (they used to use BSD4.4 in NeXTstep) is hacked into a userland (? - could possibly be in kernel space) server that runs over Mach for that refreshing POSIXy feel but ultimately forwards to the IOKit. Ultimately the thing will load Mach-O executables instead of ELF, live with Mach kexts instead of KLD device drivers, and all syscalls convert themselves into Mach IPC equivalents which then get dispatched into the BSD server which then gets forwarded to a shim that ultimately calls down to the kernel. Darwin *is* open-source, though.
Don't let this dissolve into an argument over preference of choice; yeesh! Both operating systems are at fault for their mistakes, what frustrates me most about the upgrade cycle for OS X is that I'm going to have to eventually pay for newer system updates because Apple has constricted the mac app store to Snow Leopard users and leaving a majority out of the experience. Oh, that and most applications that are ported from windows to OSX are complete resource hogs, but I'm not surprised seeing Microsoft Word is the biggest culprit of this problem.
I liked mac before it had viruses /hip

If they'll keep that choice in perpetuity I don't have any qualms. If they don't, though, I'll flip.

Probably a good $20, though.

Only if it's just because Steam discounts don't carry over... I've had two years of good use, though. I think I've blown my $30 well enough.
