Feels like the first time a company has said that they're alright with reselling games. Don't most copyright blurbs in game manuals these days talk about how it's illegal to rent/lend/sell the game to somebody else? I'm glad that Sony is getting realistic in their public attitude towards it.
Now if only Valve would allow the transfer of an already bought game to another account we'd be looking at a real nice market. It's always confused me how Valve is complaining about the optional Windows Store and Win8 being a step towards a closed-market (where Microsoft controls the software that is and is not allowed to be sold on the Windows Store) yet they don't allow their customers to resell the games that they've bought
Eh, playstation 4 seems alright. I'll probably yarr it instead of buying it.

If that works for you can you pirate me a beer too

And pirate me some life ambitions too.
I feel like the response leaves it open to be changed in a firmware update at a later time...
Have it played used games for a year or two to get launch sales way up and then come out with an update that blocks used games. They have all the sales they want from initial hype and block used games like they want (if they want).
Not saying they are going to do that, but it seems they could if they wanted to.

can you pirate me a dog
My fear is that Xbox really turns into this extremely casual entertainment box instead of a power house gaming box like the PS4 currently.
Normally I would disagree with this, but the past 2 or so years has changed this, Xbox seems to be going all "Social" and "down wif da kidz" with Kinect an it's weird obsession with social integration within it's systems.
It's tearing consoles a new arsehole for people who bought it for the sole reason to play games, They get it and they are showered with "FACEBOOKFACEBOOKFACEBOOKYOUARETHECONTROLLER"

And pirate me a girlfriend.
Or, Y'know. a watermelon, whatever works.

I'm confused. Are you saying the PS4 is a casual entertainment box or power house gaming box?
If the new Xbox doesn't play used games then I will get a PS4 instead.
I'm so happy about Sony announcing the PS4, they're pretty much forcing Microsoft's hand and advancing the consoles.
It's not really a rumor when "Holidays 2013" showed up at the end of the conference.
I doubt that, sony doesn't even know what the console will look like yet.
the only reason it needs to be confirmed is because of people overreacting to nothing but rumors and farts in the wind
Sorry but its not really full on overreacting to rumours and superstition when you consider that just over a month ago, Sony patented a system to disallow the use of running pre-owned/used games on consoles. That was what started off the whole rolling stone down the mountain and without an official response about it, you'd assume it was for the PS4.
I believe now they just patented it for the future or just to be a patent troll to any competitor who wants to integrate that type of system like say... microsoft.

or they'll just screw us over at the last second.
i really want the PS4 to be the PS2 of this decade, if that makes any sense. bring sony back to its glorious führership over consoles
Eh, playstation 4 seems alright. I'll probably yarr it instead of buying it.
You wouldn't download a PS4...
Seems cool. So far I'm leaning towards the PS4 if I ever do decide to pick up a console again.
Same here. I am more of an Xbox man myself, so I am hoping that MS picks up on these hints and don't make their xbox total shit with things like always on-line and not being able to play used games ect.
If not, then I'll probably get the PS4.
ps4 might be a fun investment, while i love pc gaming it does get stale and you start to miss consoles
