Did I really get this desensitized by the internet that when I look at those images I just go "meh just some nude woman with strains around her neck" and was expecting way worse with the huge NSFL tags? I mean it's awful the woman was murdered but the pictures aren't even that bad
I don't think so. I think it depends on how exposed you are, your expectations, and how much you've confronted yourself with all of the associated tragic subjects, i.e. rape, torture, death. The first time I saw a corpse was at my friend's funeral and it sincerely disturbed me. I don't remember anything from the corpse outside of her Minny Mouse bow and it's burned into my brain. However, out of morbid curiosity, my confrontation of the fear of death, research of serial killers and World War II, I've kind of seen enough to not be so startled.
I hope the kid didn't walk in on this
Okay, this is the guy I meant for my post on page 2 to apply to. Please consider it a reply to this dude from this point onward.

I Literally Am Unable To Make An Empathetic Connection With A Dead Person Unless They Look Like They Were Hit By A Car

I mean it's awful the woman was murdered
If it would've been an identical picture but of a live person with makeup it wouldn't be NSFL
Okay, this is the guy I meant for my post on page 2 to apply to. Please consider it a reply to this dude from this point onward.
You're still bad at comprehension, so I guess nothing changed.

There's even TV shows on in the Netherlands during daytime about hospitals and such where they just show open wounds and everything which would probably be considered gore and would be tagged NSFL. The few times I did see a corpse in person it was more the emotional part about the people they were leaving behind, I wasn't bothered at all by the fact that it was a dead body
The internet opens many doors, some might have best been left unopened.
You're still bad at comprehension, so I guess nothing changed.
Excuse me if I'm kinda fed up with this talk of being 'desensitised'. It's reductionist and very creepy behavior to see a woman who'd just been killed and say "Well sheesh, I was expecting something more grisly." and then just tack on an insincere comment about how it's awful that she died when obviously the post was made to point out that they'd expected something more 'visceral' or 'shocking'. The pictures aren't even bad? Why do people look to gratuitousness for their point of reference when it comes to this thing? Why not the actual circumstances of the person's death, which in many ways when combined with the image itself are far more horrifying than a person strewn about on a highway.
How can you do that to someone for no reason at all. A mother no less that he was completely aware of. That child scarred for life. I don't get the whole, "I want to commit suicide but I'm taking people with me," mindset. I wish no one would kill themselves but for fucks sake if you are just fucking kill yourself and leave everyone else alone.
This is fucking disgusting. I hope they find this psychopath and remove him from society. [editline]5th November 2014[/editline] Wouldn't strangling leave fingerprints?
Jesus Christ. I can more or less deal with death but that poor fucking son. I mean, fuck, Imagine walking home, expecting to see your mom and all, and seeing this. Fucking horrible.
Jesus fuck. How do you get so broken that this is even something you might consider?
A lot of it boils down to the environment at home, especially during the developing years(Childhood and teens) and there are plenty of triggers such as sexual and parental abuse. Also the lack of mental healthcare in certain countries(US being one of them) doesn't help either. Antisocial personality disorders is such an interesting subject, some people turn out to be murderers while others manage to live happy and productive lives.

You're able to criticize others without trying to go the extra mile to make them into something their not, so Knock All This Off, Please. Second of all, I agree that it's a weird response (specifically with the statement "I don't think it's that bad."), but I don't think the rest of the comment is invalidated as a result. I actually went out of my way to never view the Lisa McPherson photos because of the extreme fear tied to the disgust that everyone expressed, and when I finally viewed the pictures it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. It doesn't mean that I'm asking for more. I don't think he's asking for more. I don't think he's happy to see more, like you're trying to portray him.
That's... disgusting...
Sexy body though (User was banned for this post ("Creep" - JohnnyMo1))

If I thought that, I'd be asking for him to be permabanned, not replying to him. I think it's stupid as hell that people think they're 'desensitised' to dead people to the point where they start acting like it's some kind of scoreboard. If it's not some kind of torture victim shit you'd see on /b/ apparently it's not worth putting warnings on. I find it repulsive and in a large way, as I said, actively reducing the gravity of what's happened here just because he didn't have the foresight to cut her into a quadrillion pieces so the 'not safe for life' warning would apparently be adequate in these users' eyes.
And one more thing that makes me not want to go to 4chan ever
And one more thing that makes me not want to go to 4chan ever
/b/ you mean. Visit the safe for work boards and you'll be fine.
And one more thing that makes me not want to go to 4chan ever
Stop thinking /b/ = whole 4chan. You should visit other boards to form a proper opinion, you will see there are some pretty nice ones.

I think you're taking what he's saying and using the opportunity to twist it. And I think he's simply saying because it was under the "NSFL" tag and because of the general response to the images, he expected something way, way worse. And you yourself admit that it could've been way, way worse. I just think he sucked at wording his thoughts and instead of saying "It wasn't as bad as it could have been" he went with "It wasn't that bad". I do agree about general "I'M TOUGHER THAN YOU" thing being total garbage, though.
While this is absurdly horrible.. There is much worse being done, to many others. Quite a shame. Oh well. RIP.
Hehe, yeah I see your point. Us LiveLeakers and Ogrish masters know that for a dead person to really shock the dang senses, it needs to be like KER-SPLAT! WOOSH! [editline]5th November 2014[/editline] I Literally Am Unable To Make An Empathetic Connection With A Dead Person Unless They Look Like They Were Hit By A Car
Actually I'll be honest. This is sad but it's certainly not the worst I've ever seen. In my old lines of work I saw a lot of gory death.
Sexy body though
Ok well this joker just totally changed the scope here, rofl.
Sexy body though
She's dead. Have some fucking respect.
So do we know the motivation at this point or any backstory into this?
So do we know the motivation at this point or any backstory into this?
It's unlikely the police would release that this early in the investigation.
Whatever the case the guy clearly had some hatred brewing in there
