This isn't happening fyi. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/CRTC+drops+plan+allow+fake+news/4350608/story.html
OTTAWA — Canada's broadcasting regulator has dropped a contentious proposal that would have changed its regulations so that TV and radio stations would be allowed to broadcast fake or misleading news. Konrad von Finckenstein, chairman of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, said the broadcasting watchdog abandoned the suggested change once a parliamentary regulations committee agreed to drop the issue last week. Von Finckenstein said the CRTC did not want to pursue the proposal at all and that it was happy to withdraw the amendment, according to The Wire Report, a specialty publication that follows broadcasting, telecommunications and digital media in Canada. "We never wanted to touch this thing. We put it forward because we were ordered to do it," von Finckenstein told reporters at a recent news conference. "All I can say is, 'Thank you committee.' I will withdraw this proposal tomorrow. This is the end of the issue," he said. He said the commission was content with current laws that ban fake news but that it was coerced into making amendments in late 2010. The committee had discussed the issue with the CRTC 10 years ago, and von Finckenstein "stalled" for a decade. But once the CRTC studied the amendment by offering public input, Canadians expressed outrage and concern that the commission was about to allow distorted reporting. © Copyright (c) Postmedia News
Cool. [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] As I read the comments on the front page, a TV show is making fun of stereotypes of Canada. Awesome.

Run away... run away Canadians!
nobody actually reads the articles, ever this isn't actually a Fox News North Other people are calling it that, but it is just similar to Fox News. It literally has nothing to do with Fox. This is a misleading title.
Fox news can kindly stay the fuck out of Canada. :colbert:

Man. Us Canadians are finally geting a good comedy channel up here. It's aboot time!
All the people who hate Fox News so, have probably never watched it, And probably get all there information from equally (or more) biased liberals. I am not saying it is completely neutral, but I am saying that some of the people who attack it are misinformed.

We attack them because they knowingly spread false and misleading information to sway politics and because they actively and monetarily support organizations like the Tea Party who also spread lies and misinformation.
Bringing quality journalism to America's hat!
This is literally going to destroy politics in our country Let's hope the CRTC doesn't pass that thing that lets media outlets lie
:foxnews: We never lie, we only make mistakes. (Which aren't our fault, ever. We fact check everything.) :foxnews:
When they called the health care reform a gov't takeover
Well isn't it. Anyway, you still have not given an exact answer. [editline]27th February 2011[/editline]
How about ten? And, if Someone nitpicked everything that the Huffington post said, there would be far more examples of media biased.
