He said the commission was content with current laws that ban fake news but that it was coerced into making amendments in late 2010. The committee had discussed the issue with the CRTC 10 years ago, and von Finckenstein "stalled" for a decade.

But once the CRTC studied the amendment by offering public input, Canadians expressed outrage and concern that the commission was about to allow distorted reporting.

For the last time, we don't attack Fox because they're biased. We attack them because they knowingly spread false and misleading information to sway politics and because they actively and monetarily support organizations like the Tea Party who also spread lies and misinformation.
