The outcome isn't even obvious, the point of the trial is to determine whether he's fit for prison or should be sent to a psychiatric institution
This.... everyone who is going "well the outcome is obvious, no point paying attention lol" really doesn't understand what the trial is about. The two possible outcomes of the trial aren't "innocent/guilty" they're "guilty/insane". Actually it looks like a pretty close run thing and is by no means a full-gone conclusion... It's so important that the people who have the power to make these decisions don't dick about during the trial.
;36200468']I can see the point on the focusing thing. If I'm listening to a video when I'm playing Minecraft, I can recall word for word everything said whenever I go near the area I heard it, even a year after it happened.
I still remember what podcast I was listening to back in January last year when I dug a giant ass hole in Minecraft. Very strange.
MISTRIAL NOT GUILTY
Maybe he found it really hard to listen to and was trying to keep his mind off it? Personally I really wouldn't enjoy listening to the stories of someone who survived something like this, its some really messed up stuff.
I think the real crime is that he's playing it on a flash webpage rather than the game application.
Probably government issued laptop that has no games on it. Those bastards. [editline]6th June 2012[/editline]
Maybe he found it really hard to listen to and was trying to keep his mind off it? I don't think this is even the worst of it.
I dunno how this trial system works, but in a basic US jury trial it's not that necesscary for a judge to pay attention to all of the testimony. Witnesses and their testimony is there for the benefit of the jury in making their decision, judges don't use it to decide the outcome of a case.
The judge very much does need to pay attention to testimony. Judges can decide is certain testimony is allowable in court, along with a lot of other court precedings.
